BREAKING RULES WITH LILLY PULITZER

During my college days, I became very familiar with Lilly Pulitzer, a brand started by a fearless woman who just wanted to do things her way. Her colorful prints stand out in the funnest of ways,  no matter what month it is, even when the season influences us to dress in darker colors. That’s always been what I love about the brand she built. She danced to the beat of her own drum. We’re very much the “you do you” generation, and I love that she embraced that idea during a time that preferred conformity.
Lilly was a rule breaker, and I think our generation is definitely following suit in terms of style. Wanna wear white after Labor Day? Go for it! Wanna wear a maxi dress but you’re only 5’3? Do your thing, girl! When I think about my personal style, I don’t think it’s super “out there” but I definitely follow my own rules. I wear what I like, with confidence, which I think is key. Instead of leather, which is a much loved Fall staple, I prefer to throw on a chic cashmere cardigan or wrap when the sun goes down and cooler temperatures creep in. Not sure about you, but I’m pretty sure Lilly would approve!
