Merry Christmas Week, friends!
I had a great first day out on the slopes yesterday with my brothers, Jarrod, Beau and Ryan, and my Dad. It was a little bit chillier than we all expected, which made the lifts a little more unbearable than normal [
my least favorite thing the only thing I don’t like about skiing], but when we were out of the runs, we had so much fun and weren’t concerned about the cold at all. We got a couple inches of snow out there, too. I always love that. It seriously makes the whole experience m a g i c a l. My stepmom and sis, Francie and Jayme, and my nephew, Jaeden, all went to ski school yesterday and had a blast! If you’re looking at booking a ski trip and have never skied, or it’s been awhile, find comfort in knowing they raved about the instructors at Breckenridge’s ski school. They said they were constructive, positive and encouraging which, when you’re learning something completely new and a definitely little scary, makes a world of difference!
I’m excited to get back out there again today ESPECIALLY because my best friend, Susanna, is driving over from Denver to ski with us. Being that we live so far away from each other, and don’t get a lot of together time, I will take ANY amount of time I can get with her. I actually almost missed her this time because she leaves to go to Florida [ha, we’re switching places] for the holiday on Tuesday so, again, grateful for today and the time we’ll get together.
Okay, let’s talk about this look. I would wear this everyday if I could. True story … this Patagonia pullover is one that you will see me in more days than not during the cold weather months around my house. I wear it ALL. THE. TIME. It’s the easiest thing to throw on for errands, to take Fish out, etc. and it really is super warm. I always love a good excuse to wear my Hunter boots and, yes, I do believe the fact that it’s Christmas Week is an excuse enough! Be sure to grab the welly socks for added warmth.
How cute is the house behind me’s front stoop? There are so many scary things about the thought of being a homeowner, but things like that always get me wishing I was one, ha! Anyway, this festive beanie is a little more expensive than some of the others I’ve gotten this year but, I just loved that it was wool and would genuinely keep my head and ears warm on my trips.
Did y’all watch the Miss Universe pageant last night? My family and I were watching holiday movies but my brother heard about what happened and made us watch the painful last few minutes of the show. I wanted to give Steve Harvey, Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines HUGE hugs. Like, how awful and awkward. I imagine they’re all going through a huge mix of emotions and then to have the whole world giving their two cents … Ugh. I feel for them all.
Anyway, have a great start to your Christmas Week! I hope you’re wrapping up your work week and getting ready to head HOME, wherever that may be. Wishing you safe travels and a hopeful heart for all that this season is and could be for you this year! xo.
