As a teenager in high school, I remember walking past the Banana Republic store front in the mall thinking ‘sophisticated’ and ‘classic’ were the adjectives that described the customer their brand attracted. Back then, I didn’t feel as though I identified with those words, but I would walk around their store hoping to grow into them someday. Now, 15 years later, when my wardrobe is in need of some classic updates, I find that my mind immediately wanders over to Banana Republic and I’m typing in their website address into my web browser before I even realize it.
I love that I know what I’m going to get from Banana Republic when I log on to their website. I can expect classic, quality garments with a sophisticated, ladylike edge. I really love the frill detail on the tank top I’ve styled in today’s post, and the cropped pants I’m wearing are SO comfortable. I really needed some pants like these in my wardrobe. They are perfect for work meetings and, to my surprise, super lightweight considering they’re 95% wool. They’re perfect for a day at the office, if you’re needing some work pants, and the tank top could work for a work setting, as well, if you paired it with one of Banana Republic‘s blazers.
