Camo Pants + Styling A White Handbag

Hey there, friends!

How is everyone’s week going? Mine has been productive and a bit challenging. I started working out with a trainer on Tuesday as a way to chase after my New Year’s resolutions. I’ll be working out twice a week for now, and doing something like yoga on one other day during the week. I probably won’t start that for a couple of weeks though. Do y’all like yoga? What’s the best kind? As a beginner, I don’t know if I could handle hot yoga, ha! But, am willing to try another kind. In other news, I sold my couch this week and had my carpets cleaned. More furniture will be delivered tomorrow, mostly for my office, and my bedroom furniture will be moved over to the empty bedroom on Saturday … so things are moving along! I’m excited to settle in to my new bedroom. I think I will eventually get new bedroom furniture but am trying to focus, first, on getting my office and living room furnished. And it’s really hard, y’all! Ha! The struggle is that I am drawn to multiple styles of interior decor – romantic / cozy and regency / glam – so, I go all heart-eye emoji over pieces that aren’t really the style I’m going for for the rooms I’m decorating. My living room is what I’ve had a hard time remaining consistent with. [These are first world problems, I realize this] So, I’m just ready to be done with it but I’m trying to be patient and not rush myself. 🙂 Other than that, I’ve been shooting with Kaylee for some future blog posts and continuing to work through my to-do list for my accountant. I hired a new one this past year and we are working on getting everything a little bit more organized, which is going to be great in the long run but a little tedious and time-consuming at first.

Okay … moving on! This look … in my opinion … would be great for church on Sunday, a weeknight dinner with girlfriends or even casual Friday at work! I ordered these jeans when I was in London [over a month ago!] but had them delivered to my Florida home. Once I finally unpacked them, I had totally forgotten I ordered them and got so excited! They’re super cute and Hudson Jeans always fit so good. They’re one of my favorite denim brands for petite gals but a lot of their jeans have back pockets with flaps on them and I’m just not about that – but THESE are not that way! Thankfully! I don’t know if y’all have noticed but I’m obsessed with this new handbag I got a few weeks ago. I am not really into white bags [this one isn’t white; it’s a little off-white] so I was a little surprised that I was so drawn to it. I love gunmetal hardware, though, so the gunmetal rock studs made it easy for me to imagine how many outfits I’d be able to pair it with. I’ve intentionally purchased slate and light gray shoes over the last year so I feel like it’s a great bag to compliment those. I purchased my Manolo’s at Harrods in London and didn’t realize that this color wasn’t available on ANY online retailers site that carries these the BB Pointy Toe Pump. Sorry, guys! I really like THIS pair that are on sale and under $100. Also, THESE are a little bit different but I kind of really love them! The heel is super sleek and the gray suede is beautiful!

One of the things I’ll be working on over the weekend is planning some upcoming travel. I wanted to take the beginning of the year off of traveling after my long stay in London to allow myself to rest, recharge and enjoy being back home, as well as get organized as I have mentioned multiple times. I am going on a little weekend getaway next weekend, which I’m really excited about, but otherwise, am not going anywhere until mid-March. Where are some places you have been in the past that you LOVED and maybe never thought you would have? I’d love to hear your input. I’m putting together a year-long travel outline and would love ideas on places that maybe I haven’t heard of or unaware of! Like, for example, I went to Amsterdam in October and NEVER would have thought it was as beautiful and amazing as it really was! I had this kind of, like, ‘ew’ idea of what the city was about but was pleasantly surprised that it was nothing like my assumption. It was beautiful, unique, quaint and seriously wish I had gotten to stay a couple more days! So, places like that … 🙂 Let me know!

Alright, I’m going to finish watching the TODAY Show and get some emails answered before my next workout! Eek! Hah! Have a great day, y’all! xo.

Love the look. I used to stray far away from camo (being from the South!) but I am really loving it lately. Especially here! On the yoga subject: I LOVE it. I’ve never met anyone who’s done it that doesn’t like it. If I were you, I’d look up some yoga videos on Youtube before heading out to a class. Classes are intimidating to me. I’ve watched Yoga with Adriene a few times and I really like her videos.

I’m in love with this look! I used to be obsessed with cam then took a break for a few years, because it got to be to much, ha. But I think it’s a great neutral if styled well (and you definitely did that!).

As for cities to visit: Nashville, TN (Amazing! Although I’m sure you’ve been), Toronto (in the spring or summer…it’s got that cool foreign vibe without traveling too far outside the U.S.), Traverse City, MI (Midwest wine country. It’s probably not on your radar bc of its location, but I PROMISE you’d love it there anytime of year). Happy travels!

I would say for the Yoga, I really like Corepower yoga, it’s heated but not super hot. I thought I wouldn’t like it heated but I do it really helps you sweat out the toxins and you feel amazing after. I would start with the beginning class but the C2 class is my favorite.

With just one outfit you’ve made me consider adding camo pieces to my closet! I’m not usually drawn to camo, but something about how you styled these jeans makes me want a pair.

Yoga is such a great form of exercise. So many people discount it as exercise because its not cardio, high intensity, or weights, but yoga has so many healthy elements about it. I think you will definitely enjoy it, but do save hot yoga until later. I accidentally ended up in a hot yoga class one time because the studio’s schedule was wrong and man was it hard.

As for travel, if you want a big trip I recommend Sydney. My husband and I have traveled a lot this year and Sydney was by far the best place we traveled to. The people were great, the city was clean, the history was very interesting. If you consider going to Sydney try to book it during Vivid (Google it, it’s magnificent).

Looking forward to your office and living room reveals. 🙂

I love CAMO, its such a great pattern and I feel it can often serve as a neutral like leopard. I went to Paris and Rome and totally preferred Paris over Rome. Charleston, SC is another great city for food, fashion, sunshine and great cocktails. I do recommend checking out Charlottesville, Va (especially in the fall). Its a favorite small town of mine that I wouldn’t think Id love. It has a bit of southern charm meets New England charm, very historical and the wineries are amazing.

Yoga is a great way to stretch and prevent injury! I workout 4-6 times per week and try to run 2-3 times per week so yoga is key for my core strength and to stretch out actively used muscles. I live in Texas so this might be a little different in Florida, but I have found that some running stores provide free yoga classes for their customers! Every month they bring in a new yoga studio and a different style of yoga. Over time I have found that I love core and strength building yoga in combination with a deep stretch yoga.
I would try googling if any running stores, athletic boutiques, etc have free yoga classes just to try it out. (I actually think Lululemon stores do offer free yoga.)

I look forward to reading all about your health journey on the blog! A couple of years ago I wanted to become the best version of myself, so I slowly started working out…and now I definitely see a difference in my mood and my sleep on days I do workout and on days I don’t work out. Just be patient with yourself!

OMG, you are so active! That’s amazing! I have to keep cardio to a minimum because I’m trying to gain weight and muscle but I definitely need yoga for stretching. Looking forward to exploring it and seeing if I like it 🙂 Also looking forward to my health journey. I think it’ll take some time to create a new normal in terms of diet and exercise but, I am really excited. I’ve always just needed accountability, hence … my trainer hah! I also just need to know WHAT TO DO in the gym hah because I never go! So, anyway, can’t wait to share it all with you guys! xo.

Cannot WAIT to see how you are redecorating your space! 🙂

Also, you could try out Holy Yoga. It sounds strange but basically it is a one-hour long yoga class that incorporates Scripture and encouraging promises from the Lord. It is a great workout but also so very encouraging for the mind and soul. Every time I walk out feeling relaxed like I just got a massage! It also centers your mind back on Jesus after a crazy day or week. I hope you try it and love it!

Also, I used to live in the Cayman Islands (I’m a born and bred TN girl though!). You could take some time to visit all 3 of the islands. Sail in a Catamaran to Rum Point in Grand Cayman, stay at Cayman Brac Beach Resort and go on a discovery scuba-dive on Cayman Brac, then head to Little Cayman (a major getaway — almost deserted island) and take a few days to unplug and relax on the hammocks right by the water. It’s one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the world!

Sorry for the long comment but hopefully that gets your wheels turning! Thanks for sharing your life on the blog. You feel like a friend. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

The Cayman Islands sound amazing! I definitely want to head to the tropics this year. I have actually never been to the Caribbean, which can’t be true after this year. I have to get down there 🙂 Too many places calling my name hah!
