Distressed Jeans + Slouchy Sweater Under $100

Hey there, friends! Happy Tuesday! Are y’all heading back to work today? It’s so crazy how fast the holidays come and go! My roommate took today off because her movers are coming to move her stuff over to her new apartment. I left early this morning because I had scheduled Fish to get a dental – his breath literally smells like his name; it’s so bad! –  and she had boxed up so much more stuff after I went to bed last night. Change is such a bummer sometimes! It can also be exciting so I’m trying to keep my eye on the silver lining.

Question for you guys …. have you ever gotten rid of a HUGE TV? I have a 55″ Panasonic TV in our living room that is almost 8 years old. My Dad told me two years ago, when we moved into our place and he donated it to us, it was going to die at some point in the next year. I took it anyway because, I mean, TV’s aren’t cheap and I was about to buy a couch and a new bedroom furniture set. It’s been great but now we have to turn the volume up so loud to hear it so I know it’s going to be done for soon. Since Kristan is moving out and taking the TV stand, I figured it’d be a good time for me to get rid of it and get a new one. Plus that one is super heavy and so hard to move. Anyway, any suggestions on how to get rid of it? I live in an apartment complex so I can’t just leave it outside, you know?

A couple weeks ago, I wore this outfit [minus the heels because I didn’t leave my house that day] and posted this Instagram. It was the coziest outfit to wear around the house to get my unpacking done. I know bralettes have been a thing for a long time but I’m just now getting into them. I bought this one from Free People last year and rediscovered it in my lingerie chest after I got back, and I can’t stop wearing them. They’re so comfortable and a great option to wear under sweaters like this that, when not being worn off the shoulder, are a little low in the front. Sorry it isn’t available it the color I’m wearing anymore! Hope you like this similar option. These jeans are a favorite of mine – y’all have seen them many times – and felt the need to get a brand new pair being that these have been washed so many times.

Did y’all catch the Instagram I posted last night? I’m a little obsessed with the top! Be sure to shop it via liketoknow.it HERE! It’s only $35!

Being that Kristan is moving out … I am in full on home decor mode! I need a TV stand, coffee table, a new desk, a bookshelf with organizer drawers for files to go in my office, and I’m really wanting a smaller sectional with some chairs in the living room instead of the HUGE one I have there now. I also want to change up the area I have the bar cart. Lots of changes! Obviously it can’t all happen right. this. second! Buying furniture and redecorating is expensive, for one, and it’s also super time consuming to find the pieces that work best for the area you’re in and for your personal needs, in general. I have found and purchased a few pieces that I’m waiting to receive. But … you know how that goes. I don’t think I’ll be getting my TV stand until the end of January so no living room TV time for me for awhile! Ha! And I can’t … for the life of me … decide on a coffee table. I’m so impatient with these things ha … I just want it to be done!

Anyone else redecorating? I have found so many cute pieces for around the house during my online search for what I need around my home. Would y’all be interested in a home decor post? I could keep it to items under $250, and obviously make sure to represent different price points. Let me know if you’re interested in that!

Alright, I need to stop rambling! Y’all have a great day back to work! Appreciate you stopping by today! xo.

I would absolutely love a home decor post. My husband and I just bought our first single family home together and we are in furniture-buying mode! It’s super challenging because we don’t want to move into a completely empty house but at the same time, it’s so hard to shop for furniture before living in a space.

Please recycle your TV! I think you are in/near Jacksonville? It looks like you may be able to have the city pick it up. (Info is at the bottom of this page… http://www.coj.net/departments/public-works/solid-waste/recycling/electronic-wastes)

I love your blog! It was fun to follow your adventures in London. Now I really want to plan a trip there one December for the Christmas festivities!

Cute look! Love the bralette under the sweater. Back to work today as well!

About that GIANT TV. Some donation places will do pickups, you might have to call around. And if you’re replacing it with a new one – I would ask if they also would take the old one with them and recycle it for you – it may cost a bit extra but worth it to get rid of it. I was able to do that with an ancient printer that weighed like 300 pounds!

Hope you’re having a great new year so far. Excited to follow you on your blog this year!

Re tv shop lots I found our 60 inch at sams and saved $600 compared to same one at Costco. They typically discount televisions this time of year pre Super Bowl. We had the tv delivered and those guys also disposed of old tv. It was a reasonable fee. Sams Costco carry all the name brands I found shopping there much easier Best Buy was confusing and didn’t have the same selection.

I love today’s look, as usual you look beautiful. Decor posts would be great, it would be good for your blog too seems like many of the others are posting on a variety of topics. I hope 2017 brings many wonderful things for you.

In Pennsylvania, you can’t dispose of an electronics (i.e. TV/Radios/computers) in trash. You have to take it to an eRecycling center. I know that Goodwill does eRecycling too (at least in PA).

I’d love a home decor post! We bought our house in 2015, a month after I had our second child. Then, in March of 2016, we moved to LA, temporarily, until September 1. Then it was the holidays. Now, I’m diving into decorating. We’re starting with our main floor, then kids rooms and lastly our bedroom. You’re right. Furniture shopping and decorating is exhausting! There are so many stores with so many options! I’m one of those people that needs to live in a space before I can decide on what I need. One of my goals for 2017 is to decorate the house. Fingers crossed!

I’m in NJ and I believe Best Buy has a recycling program. When I bought a new TV, they took the old one when the new one was delivered. I think you can also bring it into your local store? Not sure if there are any fees or anything like that – obviously check with your local store before lugging that thing around!

And YES to the decor post!! Would love to read about the big and little items!

Love the outfit, and yes, I would like to see a home decor post! I love the process of re-decorating, it is so much fun! Even though it is so exciting and you want everything done asap, don’t rush it! I have found that when I decide to settle by getting something I like and matches fine, just so I can finish the room…what do you know, the perfect piece of my dreams always pops up and I get so disappointed that I did not wait! (or I just end up buying the new thing I love and wasting money on the first just okay thing lol). Anyway, I am sure you know what you are doing and that your place will look great! Happy hunting!
