My Latest Designer Accessory + Where I Buy Investment Pieces

Hey there, friends!

If you’ve followed me for awhile, I’m pretty sure I’ve made it clear that I like to mix high and low end pieces to make up my outfits. When I’m in a good position financially to do so, I like to invest in some quality pieces that I know will be a part of my wardrobe for the long haul!

Over the past year, I’ve done this on mytheresa.com! They are an online retailer based in Germany with a wide array of designer products from designers like Prada and Alexander McQueen to brands like AG Jeans and Golden Goose.

One distinction to make before moving forward … making investments in your wardrobe doesn’t mean you have to spend thousands of dollars. Everyone’s investments are going to look different, just like what is considered ‘expensive’ is subjective to everyone and their particular situations. I talked a little bit more about investing in basics over the Summer, if you want to check that out! I also talk about making smart financial decisions in this handbag review and this handbag review!

A few years ago, my friend Katey McFarlan had an Alexander McQueen handbag that I literally swooned over for the longest time. I never pulled the trigger on it but, while exploring the brand, I discovered these super cool, edgy / glam clutches that have rings along the top to make it easy to hold. While skulls are not usually something I gravitate toward, I shamelessly love these and finally splurged on one for myself! I rationalized that a black clutch will got lots of wear over the years as it will go with so many ‘nice’ outfits for events or special occasions.

MORE PRETTIES FROM ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

However, I just found this white shoulder bag that doubles as a clutch and it has the same feature, where you can put your finger through the little rings for a good grip on it when you’re carrying it as a clutch. *face palm* So, now I’m torn. Should I exchange it? I love the one you see here … a lot! But, I’m like … will I wear the white one more as I do tend to wear more light colors than dark?

Anyway, I’ll grapple with that question for awhile and let you know what I decide! These Gianvito Rossi leopard pumps are also a great investment purchase if you’re looking for a great pair that won’t kill your feet like the Christian Louboutin So Kate’s. Those are so beautiful but they are literally the least comfortable shoes I’ve ever purchased! If you couldn’t tell from how often I’ve been wearing these booties over the last couple of months, Gianvito Rossi makes great quality shoes that you will truly get a lot of wear out of for the price. I featured them in my Gift Guide for the Luxe Lover! Have you checked out my gift guides for the holidays yet?

While mytheresa.com is located in Germany, they offer free 2-day shipping to the U.S., which is incredible. It’s also super easy to return items that don’t work for you, as well, because they supply you with a prepaid shipping label. European and American styles and trends are so different so I almost feel like it’s almost better to shop for your investment pieces from mytheresa.com because the items you’re looking for are more likely to be in stock. So, keep them in mind this holiday season for any investment purchases you’re looking to make!

Hope you’re having a great week, friends! Don’t forget to enter the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer giveaway in THIS post and I have two giveaways on Instagram going on. Be sure to watch my IG stories for details on those! xo.

Cute clutch! How much can you fit in it? Looks like it’s not quite wide enough for a phone.

This clutch is gorgeous! I for one like the black but I see your struggle with the white one being a bit bigger in size and a little easier to style day to day. I’m not a fan of skulls either but it’s so gorgeous!!

You mention that you feel accessories and styles are different in the US and overseas. Can you do a post on that and suggest ways that you can incorporate trends you’ve discovered overseas!

Also that purse is fantastic! It elevates your outfit so much.

I think both are cute. I like my purses to have some room in them. I lived in Germany for quite a few years and agree that the American and European style are different. I like mixing the styles.
