Hi there, ladies! How was everyone’s weekend?
Mine was pretty busy. On Saturday, I worked and thankfully it wasn’t too crazy. On Sunday, I woke up really early to have coffee with a gal that was initially just an Instagram follower of mine. Over time, I found out that this particular follower is the sister of a friend of mine, Ben, here in Jacksonville that I met through an ex-boyfriend. Ben’s mother was admitted to my neurosurgical unit in September of 2012. Long story short, she passed away a few months later. Last week marked one year. His sister lives in Virginia, and has a love of fashion and a heart for Jesus, just like me. She had reached out to me after my own mother’s death (new to the blog? read up on this here, here and here), and I was a little blown away by His hand in my life, how He was positioning people and putting situations into my line of view, over the course of the last year or so without me even really realizing it. She was in town this past weekend, and asked if we could grab coffee. That was a no brainer. So much so, that I woke up at 5:45am on my day off to get ready and make it over to the beach to pick her up, have coffee then make it to church by 9:00AM. Her and I talked for almost an hour, and it’s just so funny how God answers prayers through the people that he gives us. Bob Goff, the author of my favorite books ‘Love Does’, says it best, I think: “God doesn’t hand us messages, instead he hands us each other.” He has shown me that multiple times since her passing, and I couldn’t be more thankful. The rest of my Sunday was spent praising Him at church and then actually starting my Christmas shopping! I usually wait until the day before Christmas Eve, but I decided to not torture myself this year. I still have a few more things to get but I have made a significant dent in my list of people to buy for!
Okay, now let’s talk about this skirt …
How cute is this? I love anything unexpected and a conversation starter, and ladies, this is definitely both of those! I like this one from Shop Dandy because it’s really affordable, but if her’s is sold out, I linked tons more that I found online! This is about bundled up as we have been able to get down here in Florida so, please, prayer for a massive cold front. If you want, you can pray that it just hits Florida. I’m okay with that. Thank you.
don’t forget | Today is the last day to enter Hobo The Original’s holiday Instagram contest where one lucky winner will take home a Lauren wallet and a $300 VISA gift card! If you want to know how to enter, head to this post from last week where I styled by favorite Hobo!

When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
