This past weekend I celebrated my 28th birthday, which is actually today. It’s always a little strange to me to celebrate your birthday before your actual birthday. I always feel like I’m being obnoxious for more days than a birthday really allows for me to be. I’m trying to get over that for all intents and purposes so I can just enjoy my day! I definitely did not let that phase me this weekend, and I had a really great time with a few of my closest girlfriends enjoying a few of my favorite things.
I don’t know about y’all … but I’m a sucker for being in the hair chair, so to start our evening we ventured over to one of the leading hair salons in Jacksonville, Cortello Salon, to experience their dry bar! We enjoyed a glass of champagne while mingling with our stylists, who were all so fun, did an amazing job on our hair, and gave ah-mazing head massages! They also carry some really great beauty and hair products that I’m thinking about highlighting later this week!
Next, we had a delicious dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Jacksonville Beach, KC Crave. One of my best friend’s, Kim, a master of surprises and my favorite true Irish lass, who was actually in Ireland this past weekend and couldn’t make it, had our table decorated especially for me with gold placemats, mason jars with light pink tulips and a chilled bottle of champagne and the sweetest card. [Thank you, Kim! And, thank you, to Kelly at KC Crave, who is also my sweet friend, for making sure we were taken care of! I love you both so very much!] After taking in such a sweet surprise, I popped the bottle, shared plates of delicious food with the girls, enjoyed a couple drinks and a seriously to-die-for dessert, and made friends with a table full of high school girls, one of which was a fellow birthday girl!
The rest of the evening was full of dancing and bar hoping, which I haven’t done in so long … in Jax Beach anyway! I seriously had such a fun night, but I think the best part was the fact that Uber provided safe and efficient transportation for the girls and I all night. Jacksonville is the first city in Florida to have Uber connect its residents to drivers around the city for a safe and efficient ride from pick up to drop off. No matter where you live, if you haven’t experienced Uber yet, you should definitely try it! Download the Uber app, and enjoy one free ride on me by entering the promo code*: SEQUINSANDTHINGS // *Promo code is valid in every US city.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Thank you for stopping by to see how my birthday festivities went, and don’t forget … enjoy your free ride with Uber! Let me know what you think, most especially my Jacksonville people since it’s new to our area!
With love and sequins,
Haley
