No matter where you live in the country, plaid is the easiest trend to incorporate into your wardrobe this season! You can opt for a lightweight button-up on warmer Fall days and grab a plaid coat as the temperatures start to dip. Also, just for the record — gingham [love this scarf!] and buffalo check are on trend and including in the “plaid” category. I bought this buffalo check jacket about a month ago and can’t wait to wear it when I venture out to Denver in a couple months! I’m strongly considering adding this plaid scarf to my collection because the colors are so bright & fun!

If you are looking to bundle up in the months to come, just remember — the bigger, the better! Grab the chunkiest knit you can find and you will be “so on trend”. Jewel tone colors are big this season, especially emerald, but you’ll see a lot of “Aspen chic” printed knits, as well. I love this bright mustard yellow knit cardigan and this fair isle sweater. You’ll be seeing large, statement turtlenecks this season, as well! I am drooling over this cobalt beauty by DVF!

As a jeans girl, my heart is absolutely broken over there not being an excess of denim on the runway this season. Instead, skirts stole most all of the shows and this will be the trend I will have to challenge myself to embrace the most! Grab yourself a few mini skirts [leather, wool, quilted, plaid — doesn’t matter!] or a long skirt with pleats or ruffles because they are all the rage right now!

If you are in a cold weather climate or are traveling at all this season, be prepared to bundle up with a wrap coat, army-inspired utility parka, or chic cape! I definitely encourage you to choose one with some kind of personality, like a faux fur hood trim, leopard print or shearling lining.

Fur will be big again this year, but with the biggest emphasis on shearling, a pulled wool. If you’re feeling bold, throw on an oversize shearling jacket. If you’d rather embrace the trend in a more subtle way, you can find it as an accent on purses, shoes, vests and jackets!

My absolute favorite trend is still going strong! Incorporate leopard print into your wardrobe by snagging a leopard print coat. If you’re still warming up to this trend, try leopard print flats or heels, scarf or purse.
