I don’t know about you, but my coffee isn’t the only thing that wakes me up in the morning. Makeup has a funny way of making me feel like I am ready to take on the day and conquer my long mental to-do list! I love trying out new products, and when I’m looking for my next purchase, I always head to Nordstrom. Their beauty department is extensive and their associates are always willing to answer your questions and help you find exactly what you need. 

The new products I’ve been trying out recently are from Urban Decay, a brand I’ve been familiar with for quite some time. Their original NAKED eyeshadow palette has been a staple of mine for a couple years. I personally prefer shimmery browns and neutrals, so this one [of the three; NAKED2, NAKED3] is my personal favorite. I had been using BB Cream for awhile, but wanted to try something a little bit lighter and have fallen in love with ‘Naked Skin’ Beauty Balm. I wear it in place of the BB Cream and apply my MAC Select Cover Up concealer over it in the areas it’s needed. I also love their ‘Naked Flush’ Bronzer, Highlighter, and Blush Palette, which is applied over my loose face powder. It’s a great palette for simple contouring. You can see in one of my photo’s [fourth from bottom] how pretty the highlighter is on top of the blush and bronzer. Apply the bronzer to the underside of your cheekbone, blush goes on your cheekbone, and the highlighter is applied in a C shape starting from the top of your eyebrow arch to the apple of your cheek. I highly recommend it. I’m using my MAC Brush 129 and you press the bristles together to make it flatter and easier to contour. OR … you can use an angled blush brush or you can invest in this amazing contour brush. I’ve also used their eyeshadow primer before to help your eyeshadow last longer and look a little more flawless, so I’d recommend that, as well.

Some other beauty products that I’m loving from Nordstrom right now is bareMinerals’ ‘Stroke of Light’ Eye Brightener, which you can wear over or under your concealer, and Diorshow’s ‘Iconic Overcurl’ Mascara. I also just snatched up NARS‘ lip gloss in “Turkish Delight”, their best seller. It’s a perfect natural, light pink color to polish off an effortless look.
