I wore this outfit home from Dallas last week. Ha, yes, like traveling. I know, it’s not necessarily your typical travel ensemble – functional and laid back – but it worked for me. These heeled booties are – no joke – the easiest ones to walk in that I’ve ever owned or come across. I love them!
In my [almost] daily downward-facing selfies on Instagram, y’all don’t typically see my work bag but I decided to include it in this look because I carry it everywhere with me. The large Longchamp bag was HUGE when I was in college and I never quite retired mine — as you can probably tell, it’s not the cleanest or most pristine, ha! But it’s an amazingly durable carry-all tote! I absolutely love it and highly recommend it!
Okay … enough about that … how is everyone’s holiday season going so far? I’ve been enjoying mine for the most part! I spent Sunday catching up with family. My aunt had knee surgery recently, so I hung out with her and my cousins for a good part of the afternoon, then went over to my Dad and his girlfriend, Francie’s, house for a second dinner and family time. We watched Home Alone 2, which I hadn’t seen in so long … I’d forgotten how good it is! [I don’t think I watched it last year.] And then, tonight, I went and helped my Dad put Christmas lights on their tree, then we hung out and listened to Christmas music, ate dinner, shopped online, blogged, etc. There are so many sweet things about this time of year and I hope you are slowing yourself down and enjoying those with people you consider family. I am so guilty of letting the “busyness” of life steal my joy or just get in the way of spending time with people who mean the most, especially people here in Jacksonville, because I tell myself ‘oh they’re here, so I can see them anytime’, but y’all it’s bad. The Lord has really used these last couple of days to shed light on the issue and shift my perspective. I need to start being more intentional about putting myself on a schedule, slowing down, and spending more time nurturing my relationships. Hmm … I smell a New Year’s Resolution brewing 😉
Great look and love the pop of plaid.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about slowing down during the holiday season and nurturing relationships with family and friends. It was exactly what I needed to hear today and something that I feel will be on my New Year's resolution as well.
Love this look! This is honestly the perfect comfy, travel look!

I wear a 6.5 and bought a 6. You'll be happy with them 🙂
If you don't mind me asking, how do the booties run for sizing? I am generally between a 6 and 6.5 but I had to order the 6 because they did not have a 6.5 in stock. I am hoping they won't be too snug 🙂
Hi! I got an XS, and I like the way it fits. I read the same thing in the reviews but I didn't find it to be itchy. It's definitely warm. I got a little hot wearing it on the plane when I was traveling last week, which was annoying at the time, but good for cooler temps, which is what it's for anyway 😉
Hello. Love this look! For reference, what size are you wearing in the sweater? Also, many of the reviews said the material was itchy. I know you have a button-up under, but did you find the collar itchy at all? Thanks 🙂
Good luck on your exams, and I hope you enjoy your time off with your loved ones xoxo
I don't mind at all! I have always worked in Neuro and neurosurgery, with a little bit of experience in ortho. I currently work on a Neuro / Neurosurgical / Neuroendovascular Progressive Care Unit. It's a little intense, but it's what I'm used to and I love it. Even if I'm not in it forever, which I don't think I will, I am thankful for the experiences and prospective the nursing profession has given me.
I love the sweater with the plaid sticking out! And my longchamp is my go-to bag, definitely the best!
Also, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of nurse are you? I'm currently in an accelerated second degree program, and I can't wait for the spring semester because that's when we have our peds rotation, which is what I'm wanting to do!

Sounds like such a lovely time with family! I can't wait to be home from school and enjoy the holiday season. I love my Longchamp bag. I use it all the time as a school bag, purse, gym bag, whatever. I have it in fuchsia. Seriously couldn't live without it.

I just purchased my first grey sweater (I think!) last week. It's such a versatile piece that it goes well with pants in any colors! I haven't tried wearing it with jeans yet, but you just gave me some inspirations!
