I wore this outfit home from Dallas last week. Ha, yes, like traveling. I know, it’s not necessarily your typical travel ensemble – functional and laid back – but it worked for me. These heeled booties are – no joke – the easiest ones to walk in that I’ve ever owned or come across. I love them!

In my [almost] daily downward-facing selfies on Instagram, y’all don’t typically see my work bag but I decided to include it in this look because I carry it everywhere with me. The large Longchamp bag was HUGE when I was in college and I never quite retired mine — as you can probably tell, it’s not the cleanest or most pristine, ha! But it’s an amazingly durable carry-all tote! I absolutely love it and highly recommend it!

Okay … enough about that … how is everyone’s holiday season going so far? I’ve been enjoying mine for the most part! I spent Sunday catching up with family. My aunt had knee surgery recently, so I hung out with her and my cousins for a good part of the afternoon, then went over to my Dad and his girlfriend, Francie’s, house for a second dinner and family time. We watched Home Alone 2, which I hadn’t seen in so long … I’d forgotten how good it is! [I don’t think I watched it last year.] And then, tonight, I went and helped my Dad put Christmas lights on their tree, then we hung out and listened to  Christmas music, ate dinner, shopped online, blogged, etc. There are so many sweet things about this time of year and I hope you are slowing yourself down and enjoying those with people you consider family. I am so guilty of letting the “busyness” of life steal my joy or just get in the way of spending time with people who mean the most, especially people here in Jacksonville, because I tell myself ‘oh they’re here, so I can see them anytime’, but y’all it’s bad. The Lord has really used these last couple of days to shed light on the issue and shift my perspective. I need to start being more intentional about putting myself on a schedule, slowing down, and spending more time nurturing my relationships. Hmm … I smell a New Year’s Resolution brewing 😉

Have the holidays been teaching you anything?
I’d love it if you shared! Comment below!
