If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I spent this past weekend in Denver. What you might not know, though, is that I lived there for a year, from August 2012 to July 2013, with my best friend, Susanna. It was a fun, yet challenging, year for a multitude of reasons, and I’m glad I ventured outside of my comfort zone to experience a city completely different than the only one I’ve ever known. I love Denver and loved living with my best friend, but I strongly believe that God’s hand prevented certain doors from opening while I was there and, ultimately, moved me home. More on that here.
Even though I wasn’t meant to stay there longer than I did, I always enjoy coming back to visit. If you’ve never been to Colorado, you absolutely MUST plan a trip. I got in Thursday night, and we immediately picked up BBQ from Jim & Nick’s on the way back to her place, where we watched one of our shows, Parenthood. It was so nice to watch one of our shows together again, but, we’re seriously in denial that there are only two more shows left!! Wahhhh! We spent the weekend in the mountains, skiing and celebrating our friend Meghan’s husband Nestor’s 30th birthday. Meghan went to college with us, but Susanna and Meghan didn’t become friends until after Meghan and Nestor moved to Denver. It’s such a small world and I love how close they have gotten. We came home Monday and ventured through our old neighborhood, stopping at my favorite place, Little Man Ice Cream, while en route to the movies to see American Sniper, and we ended our fun weekend the only way we knew how …. by watching The Bachelorrrr! Ugh, love Prince Farming — but it’s a little disgusting how quickly he goes in for the make out. Becca is my favorite so far! Anyway, great weekend overall. I haven’t laughed that hard, that frequently in so long. Being with your favorite girlfriends is seriously THE. BEST.
