I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back home in Florida. I loved Dallas and enjoyed my time there, but don’t we all just love to enter back into what’s comfortable? I think I hit that point on the second day of the rewardStyle conference. I had already been in Dallas for four/five days. I knew I’d be sitting and listening the majority of the day. I had had my fill of wearing dresses. So, this Adriano Goldschmied denim romper was my immediate go-to.
My mom wore denim all the time growing up, whether it was a jacket, button-up’s, jeans, skirts, vests, etc. It was her forever closet staple. I’m not sure if that’s why I gravitate towards it when I’m starting to crave comfort, but I know it’s another reason why I love it. My close friends have been known to call me Little Jules on the days I show up in dark denim skinny jeans and a chambray button-up. I like that.
Speaking of my mom …. her former co-worker, Jonathan, was involved in a serious scooter crash in Beijing, where he’s been teaching for the past two years, last week. He’s currently in a coma, on life support, in a Chinese hospital. Could you imagine? I am tearing up thinking about it again. Y’all. I’ve been praying like crazy that the Lord provides strength and financial support for his family and heals him, amongst many other things. If he does pull through, he has a long road ahead of him being that he sustained a traumatic brain injury, but I know our God is so. much. BIGGER. than we could ever imagine so, because of who He is, there is hope. He was like a son to my mom and he was completely devastated when she passed away. He couldn’t afford to fly back and attend the funeral and say his goodbyes. He writes on her wall from time to time and it’s just so sweet how much he loved her. He always made her laugh and helped her with computer stuff at work. They both loved all the same shows so they bonded over that, as well. I don’t think she ever spoke his name or shared a story that involved him without laughing. Again … tearing up thinking of her laugh.

Anyway, I know some may think it’d be “better” or “more appropriate” if I kept my content super superficial and all about clothes, but I just can’t do that all the time. And, maybe … to some, the more appropriate thing to do would be to put together a separate blog post about this, but hater’s go ahead and hate. I blog to inspire you, but not just in the realm of personal style and fashion. I die to myself everyday because I surrendered to live my life for Jesus and if He puts on my heart to share something intimate, or uncomfortable, I will … even if it’s right after I’ve talked about a denim romper. Who cares? Only His opinion of me matters. A man and his family are out there fighting to survive the darkest of days, desperate for so many things: healing, strength, financial provision, safe travel mercies, closeness, etc. Ugh, my heart hurts for them so badly. If you feel led, please join me in blanketing Jonathan and his family in prayer, calling on the Lord to intervene on his behalf, all the while believing, strongly and full of faith, that these seemingly impossible things can be done by Him in Jesus’ name.

More information about what Jonathan and his family are up against, being that he’s currently in China, can be found here. You can provide financial support there, as well.
Thank you so much for stopping by S&T today. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. Have a great rest of your day! xo.
