Hi lovelies! Sorry for the double dose of white denim outfit inspiration – I’m due for a photoshoot. I’m actually thinking of bringing y’all some home decor inspiration in an upcoming post. What do y’all think about that? I just snagged a bunch of affordable Fall items from Forever21, so I was also thinking about doing a Forever21 Fall Haul. Let me know what y’all are wanting right now, and I’ll see if I can make it all happen.
Anyway, I love this look. It’s super casual, yet still ‘cool’ and put together. I’m obsessed with my cobalt flats by Sam Edelman. They’re so bright and fun, adding a much needed pop to this ensemble. I just have to tell you … the gray tee … I wear it ALL. THE. TIME. I have it in white, too, and I usually reach for one or the other at least three times a week. And, it’s only $20 … love it.
Okay, let’s talk denim jackets for a second. I, personally, have such a hard time finding a denim jacket that fits my frame in a flattering manner. Every year, I try on multiple and have no luck. Earlier this year, I found the acid wash one I’m wearing at Target and hit the jackpot. I linked it back in April but it’s no longer available. I recently found this Halogen denim jacket, which comes in regular and petite sizing, and like it a lot, as well. [I styled it here]
A little insight into a blogger’s mind:
I didn’t NEED to buy the Halogen jacket, but I did so that I wasn’t blindly recommending one to y’all. I know it’s frustrating when you see something I’m wearing, you love it and then see that it’s not available. I try to be sensitive to that, so I will purchase and try out products I don’t need when I can, but … just so y’all are aware … I also like to make sure I’m getting use out of the staples that ARE in my closet to stay. I encourage y’all to keep staples in your wardrobe for as long as you can, so I think it’s important that I show you that I like to do that with my own wardrobe, as well. It’s my job to shop, find the best deals, and give y’all some fun looks to inspire you … and I hope I do that well for y’all and I have so much fun doing it, but finding the balance is sometimes really hard for me because, regardless of what I do, I let someone down. All I can do is my best to do a little bit for everybody, and y’all are usually pretty understanding about that, so I really appreciate it! I don’t know why I shared all of that but sometimes I think I should share why I do things the way I do around here, and if you ever have any questions … feel free to send me an email!
Okay, that’s enough about that. Fashion Week is coming up and, although I think it’d be fun to go, I’m actually really excited that I’m NOT heading up for the festivities. It’s so exhausting. New York is an exhausting place to visit in general, and I’m traveling next week and the weekend after, so I thought I’d be nice to myself and spend this weekend at home. I spent so much of last year WORKING and, I remember, I told myself I’d be nicer to myself this year. When I travel, it’s mostly so I can see and spend time with the people who mean the most to me … because so many of them live far away. I can’t wait to see my best friend, Susanna, who lives in / who I lived with in Denver, next week. We’re going to Cancun together with some guy friends of ours. Then, the last weekend in September, I get to celebrate the marriage of the beautiful Katey McFarlan and her amazing beau & fiancé, Paul, in Fort Worth. It’s going to be beautiful. I want to be fully present for my people, and I think I would have risked that had I booked a trip to NYC. Although … I hope everyone who goes has the best time!!
Alright, I think I’ve rambled enough. I hope y’all have a great Hump Day! Thanks so much for stopping by! xo.
