Every season, there are certain items that we, as women, need in our closet that act as our MVP’s. They’re our go-to’s. The items we grab to mix and match with other items within our wardrobe to make our outfits. At least one to two of these items are featured in almost every outfit of the week. Let’s be honest … We’d be lost without them. Okay. Maybe not lost. But I’d be lying if I said I have never had a wave of sadness come over when I realize that one of these items is in the dirty clothes. These items, if you haven’t already guessed, are called wardrobe essentials.

Said essentials, like I’ve mentioned, change every season. For Spring, my wardrobe essentials are almost everything featured in today’s outfit post:

WHITE DENIM SKINNIES – These are wearable all year long but never more frequently than in the Spring when it’s just starting to warm up and they, literally, go with every bright colored top you snag! I wore these Paige Denim skinnies for about two years before recently switching to these by J Brand. I honestly like them both a lot, but definitely prefer the J Brand ones more because the denim is a little softer. They both had to be hemmed up because I’m on the short side, and they are both thick, quality denim so you don’t have to worry about them being sheer in the slightest! Here are some more white denim options below:

LIGHTWEIGHT CARDIGAN(S) – In Monday’s post, I featured THIS long linen blend cardigan in a mustard yellow color and wish I had snagged it in a couple of other colors for an upcoming trip. Cardigans, for me, are such an important part of my wardrobe. I’m always cold when I’m indoors but, since I live in Florida, hot when I go outside. I don’t want to wear a sweater, so I typically wear a solid colored blouse and a lightweight cardigan over it on most days in the Spring. I think it livens your outfit up a bit! Here are some great options to choose from that caught my eye:

SOLID WHITE BLOUSE – If I had ranked my wardrobe essentials in order, I’d say this one is #1. White is KING in my closet. It goes with everything. It’s the perfect layering piece. In the Spring, I love a lightweight blouse-y tank and THIS one does the trick and you can’t beat the price! It runs true to size. I’m wearing a US 2.

NEUTRAL FLATS – For anyone who doesn’t live in Florida, there are days during the Spring where the mornings or evenings are just too chilly for sandals but not cold enough to require snow boots or booties. To conquer this dilemma, I certainly want to recommend you have a pair of flats that are neutral and go with quite a few of the items in your closet. I bought THESE flats in black and red a few months ago and FELL. IN. LOVE. I wore them throughout the entire holiday season [it’s pretty temperate here, compared to the rest of the country, so I promise I’m not  crazy person] and was so impressed that I had to get the beige for Spring. They are a little pricier than most people may want to spend, so I’ve linked similar below, but they are definitely cute and comfortable, which is often hard to find.

[DISTRESSED] DENIM SHORTS – Okay, the distressed part is optional. [For me, distressed is fun and adds some personality to your outfit but I know it’s not for everyone.] As Spring moves forward and surprises you with warmer days, denim shorts are essential in switching up your outfit accordingly. Pair them with a bright colored tank top, like I did in THIS post, or with a neutral top and shoes and a pastel colored bag, like I did HERE, and you’ll be good to go!
