Winter Layers In London

Hey there, friends!

I am FINALLY back here on the blog. Ha, I feel like I’ve been saying that every week lately. I know I’ve been pretty useless to you guys this month. I’m so sorry. I know it’s the busiest shopping time of the year and I’m supposed to help make it easier on you. Life is just a little crazy for me right now as, I’m sure, you can imagine. Moving back was hectic. It took a full 24 hours to get from London to my apartment, where 7 boxes and 3 suitcases were waiting to be unpacked. I came home to a big box full of unread mail and bills that need to be tended to, a tree that needed to be decorated and friends that came in town that I don’t get to spend time with very often. I needed to make a decision about whether or not I’m staying in my apartment or moving – more on that later! I also really needed to get Christmas cards made and sent, as well as a few gifts. Oh, yeah … and my parents kind of wanted to see me, too 😉 Hah! So, it’s been a busy last few days and I’m still sorting through some of these things but it is nice to sit here and put together this post for you.

I wore this cute layered look a couple of weeks ago in London. I remember it was bitterly colder than it had been, but not as bitterly cold as most of you up north right now! It’s so crazy to me that London doesn’t experience those crazy low temperatures like the northern states do here. Anyway, this hunter green parka with faux fur trim hood is a really great winter basic for only $53. I wore it more than any other jacket while I was there. Another item I wore ALL the time in London was the gray cashmere scarf I’m wearing in these photos. It is SO cozy and just seemed to go with so many of my outfits, especially with those over the knee boots. They’re a great pair 🙂

My sweater is sold out in the color I’m wearing but rounded up a few similar ones below:

Rebecca Minkoff has an amazing dupe of my Chanel bag that you should definitely snag if you like mine. Also, if you’re in need of some white skinny jeans …. definitely consider the ones I’m wearing OR these distressed ones that I ordered during the Shopbop sale last month. I am obsessed with them!

Can you believe Christmas is in FIVE days? And tomorrow is the first day of winter?

What do you have left to do? Who do you have left to buy for?

Let me know in the comments below and I will put together a gift guide for you guys for tomorrow’s post! Hope y’all have an amazing Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by! xo.

As an alternative idea to a gift guide, I personally would love to see NYE outfit inspiration for cold weather. There are so many posts out there full of cute sequin sleeveless dresses, etc., but none of them are very practical if you are going to be somewhere cold. (I know many people are going to say, “wear a jacket!” But there are many places that are still chilly inside, or destinations where you walk from place to place throughout the evening.)

I still have some gifts to wrap, but I hate wrapping gifts! I paid to have a package wrapped, that’s how much I don’t like it. Welcome back to the states!

I love your style. How tall are you? I want to purchase a pair of tall boots, but I am only 5’2″ and I worry that I will look like I have a suede leg! Any suggestions on how a short girl can rock a tall boot?
