Three Holiday Party Outfit Ideas with EXPRESS

holiday party outfit idea

Alright, y’all … we’re less than a week from Thanksgiving and exactly one week ’til Black Friday so it’s pretty much go time when it comes to holiday shopping [even though I’ve been doing it for weeks … ha!]. John and I are still ironing out our Christmas / New Year’s Eve plans but, no matter which route we end up choosing, it looks like we are going to have a holiday party or two to attend. Now, if only flight prices would cooperate so we can make or final plans, ha!

I don’t know about you but I am notoriously stressing during the holiday season and it’s all because of poor planning on my part. So, in an effort to get ahead, I am shopping early this year and, honestly, the savings I’m finding are just too good! There are amazing sales going live every day and I’m excited to be partnering with Express today to Share their Pre-Black Friday Sale so you can get your holiday looks for less!

Express is always one of my go-to destinations for party looks, especially this time of year, and their incredible drop in prices makes it a no-brainer. From now until November 27th, NEXT Members get 50% off + free shipping, and Non-Next Members get 30% off. Told ya it was an incredible sale! Oh, and let’s not forget that they’re offering 50% off + free shipping during their Black Friday Offer [11.28-12.1] and on Cyber Monday [12.2]. There are a bunch of other great offers like $29 sweaters, $20 dress shirts for the guys, and on and on. Do NOT miss these sales, you guys.

Okay wow, that was a lot but I just had to share. Now, back to what I bought and plan to wear …

You’ll notice that each of these three looks are all holiday-themed but pretty different style-wise. John and I have a nice holiday dinner with family, a formal occasion for a friend’s birthday, and then NYE, so keep in mind that’s what I was especially shopping for. If you have something similar, these looks are perfect to snag, and you could easily wear them to other events like company parties, happy hours, weddings, etc. during the season. Let’s get into each look, shall we?

Formal Event Option

JUMPSUIT | HEELS

How chic is this all-black jumpsuit? Mind you, it’s such a deal with the sale happening! Like I mentioned, I snagged this for his friend’s formal birthday party, but it’d be amazing at a wedding, holiday party, or something with friends. I will say, the material is thin and won’t provide you with much warmth, so layer up or plan on this for a party indoors only. The silhouette is stunning in real life and I found it to be flattering. I love that you can mix and match jewelry and shoes to dress it up or down, or to add versatility to such a classic piece. I went with these Steve Madden pumps [TTS and a clear Christian Louboutin dupe!] to keep things classy and understated. For the jumpsuit, size down. It runs pretty big. I will actually need to get it fitted a little more snuggly but I am in an XXS here.

New Years’ Eve Option

SWEATER | SEQUINED LEGGINGS | HEELS

Obviously NYE plans can vary greatly, but this is my option! We’ll likely head to a casual-ish party so I didn’t want to go with a dress or anything too extra [though that is always a blast to dress for]. These sequin pants are all kinds of fun and the high-waist would also pair well with something tucked in [shorter sweater, bodysuit, tank top, etc]. Go one size down as they do run a bit big; I’m wearing an XXS. As for this cute cable knit sweater, same thing; size down one. I actually wanted to size up to add length but then the sleeves and shoulder holes were too large so again, size down. I finished this look off with, again, these classic heels but you could spice things up with a strappier pair as well. I’d rewear this look to a festive holiday happy hour or to a holiday party.

Dressy Christmas Dinner Option

DRESS | HEELS, old [SIMILAR HERE]

You can never go wrong with a snazzy red dress for a holiday party, am I right? John and I have a holiday dinner with family at a nice restaurant [not saying which family yet, ha!] and I thought this was beautiful for that occasion. I know we’ll be inside so I wasn’t too concerned about staying warm, though a coat or light jacket on the way is obviously a must. This dress could easily be worn to other holiday parties or weddings and it’s a look that you could wear for years. The cinched waist is flattering and I love where it hits lengthwise. I’d suggest buying based on your height and since I’m shorter, I went one size down to an XXS petite and it fits perfect! I adore and appreciate stores that offer specific petite sizes!

Alright friends, I hope those options give you a little inspiration and versatility for whatever holiday gigs you have lined up. Are you more of a party hopper this time of year? Or someone who only heads out for the really special occasions? I’m a mix of both, but I think being in London will definitely get me out more, which is fun!

Enjoy your weekend and this incredible sale from Express! xo.
