Happy Friday, friends! As you can tell from the title of today’s post, I’m still working on getting y’all a few posts that I had in mind to start to the new year. I’ve loved going at my own pace so far in 2020 and realizing that the world goes on, even when I’m a little “behind” or whatever you want to call it. So, thank y’all for bearing with me as I get a hold on my values and focuses for 2020! I promise, it’s so that I can be the best resource to help you with your wardrobe this year, ha!
I’ve been talking a lot about the idea of rewearing loved items in your wardrobe over on IG Stories, and that’s a theme you can expect to see more of this year. I’m a firm believer in getting lots of wear out of certain items in your closet and truly getting the most out of what you spend your hard-earned money on. As I look back to what I wore the most of last year, I’m excited to keep them in rotation in my closet. I’ll be sure to share ways I’m doing that along the way, but for now, here’s the list!
Ray-Ban 51mm Aviator Sunglasses
Being a Florida girl, I get A LOT of wear out of my sunglasses. And while I have several pairs, these Ray-Bans are what I reached for more than any other. I love that they are a classic Aviator style but with an updated twist when it comes to the more rounded shape and vertical bar across the top. I never thought a rounded pair would be one that I grab for so much but, I truly love these and I think y’all could see that in 2019!
Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers
I’m more than happy to report that I’ve gotten my wear out of this pair of Golden Goose because I get that the price point might seem a bit ridiculous for sneakers and, stylistically, they’re pretty divisive. To each their own, though, you know? Golden Goose have won me over and I think it’s easy to see with how much I wore them this past year.
Plush Faux Leather Fleece Lined Leggings
These fleece-lined liquid leggings were about $80 and I’ve had them for years now, which I appreciate. They’ve maintained their quality and I’ve found endless ways to style them once Fall hits. With plaid shirts, oversized sweaters, a t-shirt and cardigan, a snazzy sparkly shirt for holiday parties, and the list goes on. These would be on my most-worn list of 2017, 2018, and 2019 honestly.
AGOLDE Sophie White Denim
I know white denim can be hit or miss for most people, but I’m all about them. I think they’re such a nice way to switch things up from classic denim and this particular pair can’t be beat [and I’ve tried ALL THE white denim, trust me]. The skinny fit feels tailored yet flattering, and I appreciate that even on a shorter frame, you don’t have to hem this cropped style. They hit right at my belly button which is my happy spot in terms of a high-rise. Lastly, I know a lot of white denim can be translucent and that’s not the case with this pair.
AGOLDE Dee Ultra High Rise Denim Shorts
Second AGOLDE item in a row so you could say I have a favorite when it comes to denim. Shorts are one of the hardest things to find, in my opinion, or at least finding a pair that fits well and are flattering at the same time. This pair stays put [they don’t ride up] and aren’t too short, either [another common issue with shorts]. These were staples in my wardrobe from Spring-early Fall and I can’t wait to pull them out again this year. They’re truly the only denim shorts I need in my closet.
ANINE BING Vintage Bing Tee
This is one of the more popular shirts among the blogger world and I know why. It’s that perfect graphic tee to throw on with just about anything, and everything I’ve tried of Anine’s is amazing quality. I snagged this a while back and it’s become a staple for when I don’t know what else to wear. Love a good go-to tee like this!
Sam Edelman Bay 2 Embellished Slide Sandal
I wasn’t sure how much wear I’d get out of these sandals when I first snagged them but it turns out they became a constant. I chose the nude color [though they come in black and snakeskin as well] and am glad I did. The neutral mixed in with a pop of rhinestone was a good mix when I wanted a pair of sandals to elevate my outfit just a bit. Slides are still majorly happening in 2020 so these aren’t going anywhere. The jeans in this photo are also on this list and I already have them at John’s waiting for me to arrive in time for Spring *fingers crossed*
Saint Laurent Camera Bag
This leather YSL camera bag is a beauty. In fact, I’d go far enough to label it the perfect handbag. The color goes with everything, the size is large enough to fit a good amount of stuff on-the-go but small enough to be worn as a cross-body, and yep, she’s a favorite. An investment, but one you could use almost daily and for years to come.
Cult Gaia Cora Beaded Tote
Cult Gaia consistently puts out beautiful summery / vacation bags and to this day, this style is my favorite. I reached for it for pretty much every trip in 2019 [at least warm-weather ones] and still find it gorgeous. The craftsmanship and design are just beyond.
Free People Blossom Button-Up T-Shirt Dress
Oh gosh, I love this dress! I love a shirtdress in general but there’s something about the comfort and style of this one that really does it for me. This is the kind of dress that I want my entire wardrobe to consist of, honestly. Versatile pieces that feel good going on, and ones you’re always happy to grab on a whim. It comes in a variety of colors if white isn’t your thing.
AGOLDE Jamie Jeans
AGOLDE … again. You can probably tell that this brand is a favorite by now. I own more of their denim vs. any other brand and cannot find a competitor who does comfort, quality and fit as well as they do. This particular pair is more of a go-to in Spring and Summer because of the color and cutouts. Super comfy, not too tight or baggy, and an awesome everyday pair.
Sam Edelman Loraine Loafers
Y’all … I don’t think I’ve ever worn a pair of shoes as much as I’ve worn these classic white loafers. I don’t particularly like walking around big cities with open toed shoes so, when I travel, these are always what I go to grab. They are pretty affordable, considering how much wear I got out of them, and are super comfortable, as well. There are tons of colors and patterns to choose from, as well. Links to the first outfit HERE.
Also, the shorts and the distressed denim in these looks are both included in today’s top worn list!
J.Crew Teddy Bear Coat
Teddy and Sherpa Coats are still a popular trend for 2020 so I’m happy that I made the investment in this J Crew Teddy Coat. It’s been my most-worn item while in London or other colder destinations, for sure. If you’re looking for something similar but less expensive, this cutie is currently on sale for $91.
Amazon Travel Cosmetic Case
This makeup case came on every single trip with me in 2019 and I’m SO grateful I found her. If you’re a girl who likes to travel with her beauty items, you know how crucial a good case is, and I love everything about this $20 version. The size, the compartments, the color, the handle … should I keep going? It would be great for skincare items as well.
Steven Madden Jacey Over The Knee Boots
In my opinion, a pair of over-the-knee boots are one of those essentials when it comes to Winter Wear. I’ve tried way too many in the past and this comfortable pair became a very quick favorite, so much so that I got them in both colors.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer
This is a beauty product I rarely leave the house without. Concealer is one of those things that once you start, you can’t stop, right? Because when you find one that is magic, it’s pretty amazing. This blend is creamy and not too thick, but thick enough that it does a nice job covering dark circles or tired eyes. I love how it makes my entire eye area pop with just a few dots of application. And the applicator is a dream! A necessity, for sure!
Mulberry Belted Bayswater Grained Leather Satchel
Mulberry is a luxury brand that I have been tempted by for so long thanks to my time in London. It’s so popular there and they have such beautifully crafted styles. I finally took the plunge on the Bayswater satchel and I know it’ll be one of those items I’ll get wear out of for years, if not decades, to come. It was an investment but I knew the lasting power of it when I purchased it. The quality Mulberry creates is unmatchable and the leather is incredibly soft yet sturdy. Definitely a chic option for an everyday tote.
Colleen Rothschild No. 9 Facial Serum
I’m the first to admit that beauty and skincare products can get a little out of control. Between the products that brands so graciously send me and what I’m buying on my own, it’s an area I want to improve on when it comes to waste and consumption. I’m honestly embarrassed to look in my bathroom and to see the products I’ve barely touched. This is why I’m eager to share a more simplified approach to beauty this year. If there’s one product from 2019 that will certainly be along on the journey, it’ll be my favorite face oil. It’s been a game-changer for me in terms of reducing little lines and sunspots, plus it feels INCREDIBLE. It’s full of nutritious vitamins for your skin and holds in moisture no matter the season. Love, love, love. More on Colleen Rothschilds’ products here.
Portland Boot Company Faux Fur Slipper
As a comfort lover, these might have been my favorite under $20 purchase I made all year. I literally wear these every day [yes, even in the summer!].
Alright friends, I hope this list was fun to go through. I’m excited to keep sharing how these beloved items fit into my wardrobe in the fresh new year and will be sure to share that along the way. If you have any questions about the items or want more info, don’t hesitate to leave a question below. Thank y’all for being here and enjoy your weekend! xo.
