While we’re technically in that “in-between” seasons phase right now, I wanted to give y’all a few shopping tips to remember:

[1]. Buy great items as you find them, not necessarily when you need them // i.e. this gorgeous, bright plaid scarf that is super warm, the perfect length, and a steal at only $38! [Side Note: I despise short scarves. What’s the point?!] It might have been 90 degrees when I walked out of Nordstrom when I bought this scarf, but knowing it will compliment a lot of outfits in the coming months made it make way more sense!

[2]. Take advantage of great sales to buy quality additions to your wardrobe that will last multiple seasons // i.e. I just purchased this cognac colored bag from Tory Burch for 25% off with code LABORDAY14. Cognac is one of those colors that transcends seasons. It looks great with darker and more subtle tones in the fall / winter and is the perfect, neutral pairing to bright pastels and neons in the spring / summer.  Although I’ve had my eye on this bag for a solid month, I chose to hold out for the Tory Burch Labor Day Sale, and put the money I saved into my savings account. This leads me to my next tip ….

[3]. Save, instead of splurge // If you’re looking to make some investments into your wardrobe, be smart about it. Take an honest look at your finances and set aside a little bit of money every time you get paid to help you feel better about making certain purchases. Let’s be honest. We don’t all have a money tree in our backyard, myself included!
