Tory Burch has been one of my favorite brands for years and I recently perused their new arrivals section and found so many great products. I’ve chosen five favorites to share with you above. I am purchasing the silk scarf, sandals and the straw tote. Giving y’all the inside scoop on what you can expect to see styled soon. Crushing on it all, though!
This cute cross body is an amazing dupe of this new Chloé bag! [Personally love this new dusty rose cross body by Chloé!] I’ve been looking for a light pink handbag to wear for Spring and finally found this beautiful new arrival by Tory Burch. The others I have chosen are a great mix of beautiful color and structural design, as well as great functionality. Hope you find one that meets what you’re in the market for!

For me, Easter isn’t about the bunny. It’s about the lamb. Easter is the reason why we all know what love really means. It fulfills so many prophecies in the Bible that Jesus would come and save us from ourselves despite of our sinful nature. What an act. What a sacrifice. Isn’t that what love is? When you feel the most loved by someone … it’s because they’ve acted in favor of you, right? It’s not because they say they love you. It’s because they’ve shown you. In whatever way it is that you receive love. [We all receive it differently] And, typically, we do that by making some kind of sacrifice whether it be our time, our feelings, our money, etc. There aren’t many who would lay down their life for you but, Jesus did. I know not everyone reading this celebrates Easter or shares my same belief, and that’s okay! Even if you don’t, I believe when he died, he had you in mind. His life was a declaration of love for you, as much as it was for me. His blood washed us all white. Thank you, Jesus, for showing us the definition of love in the flesh and giving us something to aspire to be for others … loving. In a sacrificial action kind of way.
Psalm 22 is one of the chapters in the Bible that really, really blows my mind and is one of the reasons I became a believer. It was written hundreds of years before crucifixion was even invented, by the prophet, David, and [assuming you’ve read it at this point] doesn’t it sound exactly like what Jesus was going through [also assuming you’ve read the parts of the Bible that tell the story of the crucifixion] on the cross FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS? Mind blown. Again, fulfilled prophecies. [Compare Psalm 22:18 with Matthew 27:35; again the Psalm was written hundreds of years prior]
“He humbled himself in obedience to God and died on a cross. Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phillippians 2:8-11
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
These are just a couple of my favorite Bible verses, and ones I particularly like to sit with during the Easter season.
What are your Easter plans? I am going to church on Sunday morning with my roommate and her mom. Then, my roommate and I are going to my Aunt’s house for dinner! Other than that, I’m sure we’ll catch up on our show’s and relax before succumbing to a food coma. I’m excited about seeing my Aunt, though. She’s my Mom’s oldest sister and I always love catching up with her. She’s such a great cook and so many things about her remind me of my Mom. 🙂
I have some articles and sermons to share if you’re interested:
THIS is a sermon my pastor did a couple years ago at Easter that had me in tears. It’s about the gospel, essentially, but he goes over the seven things Jesus said on the cross.
My sweet friend, Mackenzie, who lives in Oklahoma City, is an amazing writer. Last year, she wrote THIS blog post all about why we shouldn’t forget about Good Friday and its significance. I’d encourage you to read it. It’s amazing.
If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know my friend Whitney, who writes Blonde Atlas. [We were friends before our blogs, which is always a great thing] This time last year, she was going through a lot in her life and the Easter weekend taught her a lot. THIS is the blog post she wrote about what it taught her and is great for everyone, but especially if you’re in a season of waiting. Check it out.
If you listen to any song on your way to church this weekend, I would encourage you to consider ‘Forever’ by Kari Jobe. You can thank me later.
And, if you’re in the Jacksonville area, I’d love to invite you to attend one of my church’s Easter weekend services! Service times and locations are HERE and, if you see me there this weekend, don’t be a stranger! Would love to chat with you! 🙂
Only one post today! Not two, like I mentioned on Snapchat, ha! That second one will be up tomorrow so be sure to stop by! Hope y’all have a wonderful Good Friday! xo.
