as some of you know, sequins and things celebrated a mini milestone on august 25th: our half birthday! now, i realize that this isn’t the greatest of accomplishments, hence the ‘mini milestone’ reference, but considering this little hobby takes up about as much time as my paid, full-time job, i consider it to be worth mentioning. i put energy into this partly for me, but mostly for you, the readers. with y’all on my heart, i asked my twitter and instagram followers what you would like to see on ‘sequins and things’. one request was for an example of how you can bring a summer look into the fall, which, i thought, was an amazing suggestion.

so, here we are. this swing dress is the perfect piece to wear during this transitional time, when the temperatures are just starting to dip ever-so-slightly in the latter hours of the day (unless you’re in san francisco or bangor, where you could substitute ‘ever-so-slightly’ with ‘drastically’). during the day, i would pair this with my favorite gladiator sandals, a fun statement necklace, and an easy neutral crossbody bag. as the temperatures drop a little at night, i would substitute those with a couple of layers, like a utility vest and scarf, and then add some booties as the finishing touch to the more fall-esque look.

i hope this helps to get those creative juices flowing in your mind about how to transition some of your favorite pieces from summer to fall. what else do you want to see on sequins and things? do tell!
with love and sequins,
haley
