Hey everyone! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I certainly did. It was wonderful having Christmas Eve & Christmas Day off. I really hope that this was the first of many more Christmas Eve’s and Christmas Day’s off of work and fully “present” at home with family and friends. [Back info: I’m a registered nurse and, as you know, hospitals don’t close for holidays, so I’ve worked my share of Christmas Eve nights and days, as well as Christmas’. I shouldn’t complain but it really stinks to be away from your family, because by the time you get home, everyone is exhausted or if you work Christmas Eve night, you’re so tired from being up all night.] I had intentions of getting this post up this morning, but it was more important to me to help play the role of Santa last night, as we have an adorable seven year old that’s in our family, who tracked Santa ALL afternoon on Christmas Eve and was SO excited for him to visit us. He almost pee’d his pants this morning while we were waiting for everyone to wake up to open gifts. Y’all, it’s amazing how The Lord has strengthened my heart this year, enabling me to love more fearlessly, and thus, allowing me to feel so loved by Him with this gift of new family members. It has been awesome getting to know them and it was a great first Christmas together. Jesus is always the sweetest gift on this day, but it was extra special to be surrounded by so many of my Mom’s Christmas decorations around my Dad & Francie’s new home and to have received a very courageous and thoughtful framed collage [of pictures] of my Mom & I throughout the year from Francie and her daughter. It was extremely sweet, and of course, brought me to tears [I’m a cry-er, y’all. It’s bad]. Jesus continues to shower us with His love and grace, and though we are far from worthy, it’s there still. How sweet is that? Life isn’t ever perfect. It’s all about perspective and I am thankful for the perspective He gives me as I walk with Him through this life. Merry Christmas, friends!
