Hey there, friends! How was everyone’s weekend?
It was dreary and rainy in London on Saturday, a lot like how most people probably think London is most days. I had a lot of errands that I needed to run and happened to bump into Courtney Kerr during a stop in Harvey Nichols. Her and I have met before but have never really gotten to know each other super well. She is really, really nice and easy to talk to in person, just as you would think she would be. It was so nice to chat with her and meet her two friends Christy & Lyndsey, who also have blogs, and just enjoy the company of girls from my side of the world.
Yesterday, I got up early, prepped some outfits for a blog shoot with Victoria. We had planned to shoot in Westminster and it didn’t hit either of us that it was Remembrance Day here in England. That is their day to honor their fallen veterans. There are massive parades and ceremonies, streets are blocked off and everyone heads into the center of the city. So, needless to say, we didn’t shoot in Westminster yesterday, ha! We ended up shooting a couple of looks in two different areas, and I happened to meet a few of my readers who were walking through St. James Park. It is always so fun to meet y’all. I wish I was able to meet more of you. It’s a weird concept from this side, I think. I know you guys exist but bloggers aren’t like musicians who get to see the number of people who physically fill the seats at a concert, and do meet and greet’s before the show. We see how many people come to our site a month, are on it at any given time, how many likes are generated from a photo on Instagram but I think it’s hard to really grasp that those are REAL people because we rarely get to meet you or see you. Does that make sense? So, when I do, it kind of blows my mind a little. I’m so flattered that you would come to see what is going on here on my site, in my little corner of the internet. Thank you so much..
I wrapped up the weekend by taking Fish over to a puppy sitter’s house because I am heading out of town for a few days. Whitney and I decided that we need to go on a little trip before we both head back to the States and, being that I haven’t done too much traveling outside of London while I’ve been here, I agreed that it’d be nice. So, I’m currently on a train heading to Cologne, Germany and her and I are going to explore for the day, and then head out tomorrow for a fun road trip. The 4:00AM alarm was brutal but I’m excited to see everything we’ve planned to see 🙂 Interested to see what the food situation is going to be like … I haven’t heard great things, so fingers crossed it’s better than I’ve heard.
This outfit was shot in one of the most beautiful and expensive areas of London called Belgravia. I highly suggest just meandering around. You’ll kind of feel like you’re in another world. It’s hard to wrap your mind around the fact that people actually live in the houses you walk by.
Gray is having a huge moment in my wardrobe these days. Well, neutrals in general are having a moment. As you can tell on my Instagram, I’ve been mixing camel and gray a lot. I just think it looks so good together and I don’t feel like it’s a combo I see a lot of other people wear. I think it’s important to try out new color combo’s, even if it’s not something ‘everyone else’ is wearing.
These white denim jeans have been getting so much wear out of me lately, along with my gray Stuart Weitzman Highland Boots. They just look so sleek and nice together, and perfect for a weekend night out! Well, as long as you’re not going anywhere too crazy – don’t want the suede to get too scuffed up and dirty. Unfortunately, I got this Topshop sweater a couple of months ago and it’s already sold out in the camel color but it is available in a pretty light blue color, that’d be nice with the rest of this outfit. Have you seen this dupe of my Chloe bag for under $100? Be sure to check it out and snag it if you, like me, have been wanting to wear your gray shoes ALL the time.
Well, our train is pulling into its station in Brussels. We need to switch to another one before getting to Cologne but we’ll get in around 9:30AM so we can take advantage of a full day. Stay tuned on Snapchat for all the latest from my trip!
Oh! And I’m 75% of the way through Girl On The Train and I still have NO idea who did it! I can’t wait to finish it. Have y’all seen the movie? Is it worth seeing? Is the book better?
Have a great day, lovelies! xo.
