Hi there, lovelies!

The weekend before last, I traveled up to Amelia Island to meet my friend, Marissa, for a little girls weekend getaway at the Ritz Carlton. Y’all may remember that she came to visit me in London back in October! I haven’t seen her since that trip, so it was really nice to catch up and spend time together, especially so close to where I’m from! Amelia Island is literally in Jacksonville’s backyard, a mere 34 miles north and east, but I had never ventured up to explore it before. Anytime I mention that to friends or anyone here in Jacksonville, they’re like ‘REALLY!? How is that even possible?’. It’s pretty much the same reaction people have when I tell them I’ve never seen FRIENDS. *covers face* It’s true. So, anyway, that made me even more excited about the weekend … to finally say I’ve spent some time in Amelia Island! 🙂

I’ve stayed at the Ritz once [years ago] before in Atlanta but I didn’t spend a ton of time there, so I didn’t get to enjoy the amenities that they have to offer. I wanted to make sure this experience was different! So, Marissa and I really enjoyed their club lounge for breakfast every morning. The view was absolutely gorgeous. It’s on the eighth floor and it overlooks the ocean where the sun comes up. The weekend we were there, they had a few events going on that we got to enjoy. In years past, their bar was really, really small and it wasn’t able to accommodate the amount of people who wanted to enjoy a cocktail during Happy Hour, at sunset and into the evening. So, they expanded it and remodeled everything into an open area bar concept called The Lobby Bar. They craft absolutely delicious cocktails and have an extensive wine list. And, ladies, if you want a nice relaxing getaway, tell your hubby about how the Ritz on Amelia Island has custom, home house-infused bourbon blends! Hopefully that will sell him! They also have AH-MAZINGGG sushi! Oh my gosh … Marissa thought I was going to turn into a spicy tuna roll. I couldn’t stop eating them, hah!

Here’s the outfit I wore the first night we were there, Friday night:

On Saturday, we decided to venture over to Fernandina Beach to explore the little town on Amelia Island. It’s such a cute, quaint little coastal town with that adorable Southern charm. We popped in to lots of little shops and decided to try out a local Mexican restaurant.

Here’s the outfit I wore:

It was pretty quiet and really cold that weekend, and I don’t think either one of us were expecting it to be as cold as it was. We almost opted for a beachside bonfire, because they do have fire pits! But, ended up snacking and chatting up in the club lounge. We did sit outside and enjoy the view of the waves rolling up on to the beach, something Marissa and I both looove to do!

Here’s what I wore to lounge out by the water:

That night, there was a huge event celebrating the opening of the new The Lobby Bar so we got dressed up in some cocktail attire! Y’all loved this dress and I really wish more sizes were available but, if you haven’t checked it out yet and just want to be sure, here it is! I also linked a couple of cute Spring dress options with lace-y details:

On Sunday morning, Marissa and I grabbed breakfast then headed down to the Spa to enjoy some services. I got a 110-minute massage and y’all … I don’t know what I do to the muscles in my back, but it must be where I carry stress. My masseuse did some WORK back there! Then, we just kind of lounged, read and hung out for awhile before an afternoon beach walk. It had warmed up quite a bit – thankfully! – so we got to enjoy the sunshine for a little bit before heading up to get ready for dinner at one of the Ritz’s restaurants called Salt. Friends of mine who have been RAVE about how good it is, and now I can say I totally understand why. It was absolutely delicious!

I re-wore an outfit from one of the other nights on Sunday night, to dinner, but here is what I wore on our beach walk:

Overall, Marissa and I had an amazing time in Amelia Island and I can only imagine how much better it would have been in those warm weather months by the pool and on the beach! I’m hungry for some sunshine on this skin! Be sure to consider staying at the Ritz on Amelia Island if you’re wanting a nice little weekend away with girlfriends or your significant other! Thanks for stopping by today, y’all! xo.
