Easy Casual Fall Outfit In Connecticut

fall outfit inspiration, ysl handbag, fall style, fall fashion, connectcut

Hey there, lovelies!

I had such a nice trip up to Connecticut to visit with my friend, Marissa, a few weeks ago. We drove about an hour outside of her small town to stay in an even smaller town called Washington. I had never been to New England, other than to stay in New York City, so everything, to me, was extremely ‘adorable’ and ‘charming’. It was quaint and all of the homes had character because they are older. I like that. She kept laughing at me because, to her, it was normal. It’s so interesting how different parts of the country are so different. I asked her at one point … “Where are all of the neighborhoods?” In Florida, that’s practically all there is! Well, predominately.

One night, we drove over to an old tavern in a neighboring town to grab dinner. I kept it pretty casual in these raw hem skinny jeans, a long sleeve high / low swing top and my tried & true rag & bone booties. Here are a few opinions are about each item:

• I can’t say enough good things about this top. It’s such a great basic and I know it’s easy to say that about so many things. The fabric is a little thicker than most of the other basic tops [that are great for layering] that I’ve recommended in the past. It’s super soft to touch and I love how flowy it is in the body and fitted it is in the sleeves. It comes in so many colors. I have the white, green, black & white stripe and blue. This is one of those tops you’ll love wearing and will have for a few years, at least!

• These raw hem skinny jeans are a recent purchase and impressed me immensely. I don’t always share this on my Instagram but, I purchase and try out A LOT of jeans. [I’m a creature of comfort and jeans are one of the things I’m most comfortable in. So, since I like well fitting, comfortable – and well made – jeans … I try out a lot to ensure I’m investing in & sharing the best of the best.] And, honestly, there are so many not-so-great jeans out there … at least for me and my body type … but I’ve found AG Jeans and Hudson to be the two brands that consistently hit the nail on the head in terms of fit, comfort, style and quality. They’re a little pricier and I realize that so if you’re looking for all of those things just a little more moderately priced, try BlankNYC! They’re my other favorite! Okay … back to THIS pair of jeans … these are great for petite ladies, like myself, because they hit right at the ankle, which is where I like for my jeans to land. They’re also fitted all the way down to the bottom, which is another preference of mine. I’d definitely recommend going down one size from your normal on these. They are well worth the price being that the wash is the perfect dark denim. You’ll wear them with everything!

• My booties are really hard to find now. I got them during the Nordstrom sale. I did some looking around and they’re really impossible to find so I found some similar options for ya, instead! This is a similar option under $100 and this is a similar option that’s on sale! If you want to stay within the rag & bone brand, they have this charcoal gray pair that I think are super cute for Fall … you can find a more affordable pair of booties in that color HERE. Here is a charcoal gray scarf that would match really well when you wear them, and I’d say pair those two with a lighter gray bag like this one ORRR you could snag this new Tory Burch cross body I just bought. It’s really, really cute and all of those would tie in together well. I’m just trying to give y’all ideas on how to wear charcoal shoes since I can’t show you myself. 🙂

I’ll be sharing a full roundup of the outfits I wore during my trip to Connecticut next week on the blog so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that!

Victoria and I are currently in a little town in France, called Rouffach, which lines along the Alsatian wine route staying at this beautiful little chateau that overlooks the town. We arrived yesterday and will be heading out here shortly to head to our next destination. When we left Paris on Saturday morning, we set out for Strasbourg, picked up a rental car and we’re currently taking a little road trip along the French / German border, exploring some adorable little towns and snapping pics along the way. It’s been really fun! Can’t wait to share more 🙂

More outfits from this trip will be up on the blog throughout the week so be sure to pop back over tomorrow! Have a great start to the week! Thanks for stopping by! xo.
