Hey there, friends!
My trip up to Vermont last week with Victoria was SO MUCH FUN! We were in awe of all the beauty the towns of Burlington, Stowe and Woodstock had to offer and getting to experience them during the the Fall foliage peak was certainly an added bonus! Victoria gets to enjoy the changing of the leaves in London but not on this level. It was unreal!
Victoria and I got up early one morning as we wanted to have plenty of time to get lost and explore the area as possible. As we were driving to the city center from Edson Hill, we turned off the main road to feast our eyes on this stunning view overlooking the city of Stowe. It wasn’t extremely cold on this day but it was chilly enough for some light layers. So, I doubled up two of my turtlenecks. The gray one I’m wearing is slightly big on me so I layered the more fitted one underneath [featured in this post]. I threw on my new Patagonia fleece vest, a seasonal staple I own in a few colors – this being the newest, for a little added warmth. Layers are everything in the Fall.
If it had been a bit colder, I may have thrown on this J.Crew Cocoon Coat I love in the Sandstone color. I told you I would make sure I shared some good outfit inspiration for that particular color in the coat so, I think it would look perfect with these tones and colors all together!
The rest of the outfit is comprised of items that I love in my wardrobe that I have either recently purchased [that are low in stock or no longer available] OR that have been in my wardrobe for awhile that I love and don’t want to stop wearing. I think it’s important to continue to get use out of items in your wardrobe that you love. While I love to shop and share new buys with you all to take advantage of … I also feel like the items I choose to keep in my wardrobe should still be worn from time to time and simply serve as inspiration, especially when there are great similar options available.
My gray jeans are a great example! They have been a favorite of mine for a couple of years and I just can’t quit them. I linked a few similar pairs in the Editor’s Notes at the end of the post but don’t miss this pair from Wal-Mart! Yes, Wal-Mart! I’ve started to look there more now after my stop in with Victoria after her luggage mishap. I saw quite a few cute things there when we were shopping around that were super affordable! We all love a good deal so why not highlight them from time to time when I find them. While the gray jeans at Wal-Mart aren’t a steal, they are a really great similar option. If you try them, let me know how they were!
I’m in New York City for the rest of the week! Every time I have come to the city over the course of the last few years, I am only here for a couple of days and it never leaves with enough time to get together with my close friends from college who live here. So, Victoria and I are shooting in the morning then I’ll be finding cute coffee shops to call my office for the week and catching up with friends in the evening! I’m missing the boys so so much, though! I’ve been living for my daily photos from their dogsitter! I know they’re having the best time but I miss their snuggles and just being their Momma, you know? Anyway, hope you’re week has gotten off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by today! xo.
