I’m guessing I’m not alone here, but one of my favorite parts of Fall [outside of the fashion, the decor, the leaves, the weather…should I keep going?] is the beauty element. It’s always that time of year when you can go a little bolder on the lip or metallic on the eye without looking too extra. I’m not saying I head to the coffee shop with a bright red lip on a Tuesday, but there are definitely occasions where I’m feeling it. Any other bold lip lovers out there?

Ha, I know what you’re thinking. You RARELY wear bold lip colors. That’s true. But, a few years ago, I went through a phase where I experimented with several bold lip colors. I wore them all the time! Go look through this blogs’ archives. I can assure you … there’s proof, ha [just look here]! As a neutral girl, this was outside the box and also refreshing! Somewhere along the way, I fell back into my stagnant, neutral ways but, I’ve been taking note of several new shades that I just had to get my hands on.

Plus, I’m very much into this ‘kissable lip’ trend that I noticed while perusing the Nordstrom cosmetic section lately a.k.a my second home. Y’all know my love for Nordstrom runs deep and you can find me there a couple of times a month checking in on beauty trends and new collections. Their cosmetic consultants are beyond helpful and they always have the scoop on what’s new in the beauty world, like this kissable lip trend! For this, think colors that stay put all day and don’t bleed over your face [or someone you’re smooching!]. I know you guys like to hear about new beauty products that I’m into, so today I’m sharing five … and they’re all for the lips!

And, because I’m giddy about fall fashion, I even paired three of the colors with fall outfits for an extra dose of inspiration. I’ll also be sharing up-close shots of how each of these lipsticks look on IG stories today so head there if you want to see everything in action, k? For now though, my reviews of the five colors I’m into.

Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte Liquid Lipstick – ‘Bold Digger

Y’all, don’t be scared of the metallic look of this color when you click on that link. I never thought I’d touch a metallic lip color [remember, neutral gal here!], but I actually LOOOOVE ‘Bold Digger’ so much!

It’s bold [ha!] but the consistency is light. And … the best part? It legit stays on ALL day [or night]. I’m talking 8 hours here, friends. With that said, it is a little hard to get off and feels heavier compared to other formulas, but I do respect the color range and longevity. It’s definitely my pick for a special occasion dress or event where you have zero time to reapply. I’m very into burnt orange as you can see from this dress [which BTW, perrrfect Fall dress for a casual wedding or with booties some something more low-key] and thought the dark metallic spiced it up. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick – ‘Bohemian’

This is actually the color that got me re-inspired to wear bolder colors again. IT IS SO GOOD! ‘Bohemian’ by Anastasia Beverly Hills is a delicious deep burgundy, which happens to be my favorite shade to wear in the Fall and Winter seasons. I’m not sure what I ever did without it come Fall, and now that it’s in my arsenal, consider it a repeat offender. Such a rich and pigmented blend of lipstick, as well. I think you guys will go cray for this one so, come see what it looks like ON over on in IG stories.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick – ‘Suck It Out’

This is one of my all-time favorite matte liquid lipsticks, which is saying a lot since ya know I like to experiment!. One of my favorite elements of this lipstick is that your lips don’t feel that awkward tightness that some finishes create. It’s a lightweight and highly-pigmented option that goes on like a gloss and dries as a beautiful opaque matte. ‘Suck It Out’ is a deep rose shade with brown undertones and it’s basically what Fall lip dreams are made off. Sort of has that ’90s vibe, too. This is a great day option since it has staying power and I really can’t think of an outfit it wouldn’t go well with! I’m wearing one of my go-to combos for Fall 2019 – a chunky oversized turtleneck, a faux leather mini, and booties, and I loved playing it up with color.

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick – ‘Throwback Jam’

The next pick is another dark berry color that has a liquid matte finish as the name promotes. Again, this Smashbox option is trickier to get off but it’s only because it stays on so well alllll day! I’d much rather have something that takes effort to get off than to reapply 12 times a day. Same? This entire collection has such pretty colors, by the way! P.S. This is the other lip shade that isn’t featured in an outfit that I’ll be featuring over on IG stories today!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick – ‘Walk of Shame’

First of all, the name here is too funny. I love that Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have cheeky names but, more than that, I love that the consistency is that ideal creamy-yet-matte finish. You know those hydrating unicorn lipsticks that glide on well and don’t make your lips dry? This is that! I also like how it’s buildable so you can always mix other colors if you’re wanting a blend. ‘Walk of Shame’ is that perfect berry-rose shade that’s a great fall daytime color. I personally love it paired with neutrals or marigold to play on the warmness of the shade. This is definitely my pick if you’re wanting to play with color but aren’t ready for something too wild.
