Flattering Blue Lace Dress

Hey there, friends! Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend?

On Friday, I went out to celebrate my friend, Gina, who is turning 31 on Valentine’s Day! I wore this super cute blue lace dress. It pairs really well with these suede sandals that I can’t stop wearing but, since it was a little chilly out, I opted for my favorite over-the-knee boots. You may remember the dress from last year. I wore it in red down in Miami during my birthday weekend. I saw it available in the blue a couple weeks ago & couldn’t resist getting it in another color. [There’s also a white version available for under $100!] The fit is a dream. Shift dresses normally swallow me but this one is slender enough to allow me to pull it off. It runs true to size and am wearing an XS in these photos.

[NOTE: I only mention my size because of feedback I have received. I’ve been told that it helps you make a better decision on what to buy for yourselves. It also prevents you from having to ask the question if you’re curious, and saves you from waiting around for me to get back to you! But, on the other hand, I’ve had a couple of girls ask me to stop because ‘we know you’re tiny’. I was a little taken aback because, if you read my fitness post, you know that I’m working to gain weight and that, just like every other girl, I’m a little sensitive when it comes to the topic of weight. I hope that if you’ve read my blog long enough you can tell that I would NEVER want to make anyone feel less than or insecure in any way. That is not my heart, not my intention, and not anything I would ever get satisfaction over. So, please know that I am never, ever mentioning my size to ‘show off’. I seriously wanted to hug the girls that asked me to stop because I hated that I may have upset them. I repeat, that is never how I want to leave people feeling. I’m just trying to help you make a decision on what size to get if you want the item I’m wearing and, honestly, I wish there was a better way to answer that question & give you that information.]

Aside from Friday night, I had a pretty low-key weekend. I ran a few errands, did a lot of cleaning around the apartment, and started doing a lot of organizing in my office. If you’re wanting to redecorate and reorganize, my biggest piece of advice is to know that it takes time and to be patient with the process. It used to really irritate me sometimes that what I think is a short to-do list would take so long to accomplish, but really … I just underestimate how long things take. Ha! I’ve been putting together some lengthy posts lately so, this week, I’m planning on sharing quite a bit of outfit inspiration for ya so I can be a little bit more freed up to do some back-end work … like continue to organize my office. I can’t wait to get ready in the morning and sit at my desk to work on posts! I’m almost there! 🙂 Can’t wait to share what it looks like!!

Thanks to everyone who checked out the Friday Five last week and left Fish & I some love re: our new addition! Chips is a handful but we have been LOVING him. I can’t wait to share more about him in tomorrow’s post! Enjoy your Monday, lovelies! Thanks for stopping by! xo.
