Hi there, friends! Happy Monday!
Recently, I’ve felt like I’ve been pretty hard on my hair. I color it frequently and put heat on it almost every day. I’ve tried leave-in conditioner and other treatments in the past, but have struggled to find one that doesn’t make my hair feel greasy and / or cause dry scalp or split ends. I felt like I needed a refresh of some kind, so I figured, why not try to change up my shampoo and conditioner? It was a small enough change I could make that wouldn’t require a big investment, and wouldn’t be yet another product to remember to use in my daily routine, but might make all the difference when it comes to my hair’s health.
So I went on the hunt. I needed a great shampoo and conditioner that would be free of harsh chemicals, protect my color, and smell amazing. I wanted something that would make me confident I was truly giving my hair the nourishment it needs.
I had heard of Hair Food in the past, but had never tried it before. Hair Food is inspired by the nutrition found in power foods. Just like your body needs to fuel itself with delicious, nourishing food for energy, your hair needs that same kind of nourishment!
So, I decided to take the plunge and see if what it promotes actually yields the results I have been looking and hoping for in a shampoo and conditioner. Being that everyone’s hair is different, Hair Food has different lines curated for that particular hair type. For me, the Sulfate-Free Color Protect collection is what I needed due to my frequent color treatments. It uses pure ingredients and is free of harsh chemicals, including parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulfates, or dyes.
And, y’all … the smell is AMAZING. Seriously, since the minute I opened the bottle, I’ve been absolutely in love with the peachy-nectarine scent. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I hate the process of washing my hair, but Hair Food makes my hair smell so good that it actually makes me WANT to wash it! 🙂
The Sulfate-Free Color Protect shampoo is a mild recipe that protects color and promotes shine. And the Sulfate-Free Color Protect conditioner makes my hair feel hydrated and healthy, even after the heat I put it through with my blow dryer and curling wand. Hair Food also carries a Volume line and a Moisture line, which I can’t speak to personally. But if you don’t have to worry about color protection and would prefer to pump up your hair with volume or moisture, I’d give those a try! Those lines use different natural ingredients, thus they have different scents. But if they smell half as good as the Sulfate-Free Color Protect line, you’ll love them.
And honestly, I can’t believe the price. It’s such an affordable way to switch up your routine and try something new for your hair. So, if you, like me, have been looking for a way to feed and rejuvenate the health and feel of your hair, I highly encourage you to consider trying Hair Food. I promise, your hair will thank you! xo.
