With this week’s Friday Find comes a confession,
I have to tell you a little more about my love/hate relationship with denim.
I’ve already expressed in a previous post that,
although I love to shop and find good deals,
especially on versatile, quality pieces that will,
therefore, become long-standing items in your wardrobe,
if there is one thing I have a deep disdain for it’s
shopping for denim.
And, before, I was particularly speaking of jean shopping,
but I’d like to go ahead and use this platform to expand it to
shopping for all things denim.
Regardless of this disdain, however,
I’ve been on the hunt for both a denim jacket and a denim vest.
Here’s why: Both items, I feel, would be great for summer.
Depending on where you are, summer nights can be a little cool
so you could throw a denim jacket over your tank top and skirt
and … voila! Completely put together, looking effortless.
So, on my shopping adventures,
I’ve been trying on every jean jacket and denim vest I can find,
and time after time, come up disappointed,
deepening my disdain for the task at hand.
I constantly come to find that either the sleeves of the jacket are too big or long,
and the vest is too box-y, neither of which are flattering.
So, the hate part of this relationship
I have with shopping for denim is clear.
But what about the love part?
Well, I didn’t experience the love part of this relationship
until I unexpectedly came across the most perfect denim vest in Target this week.
I love when things find you unexpectedly …
… although my bank account doesn’t.
I was walking through the bathing suit department, of all departments,
so this denim vest was literally the last thing I was expecting to see.
I tried it on and it fit like a glove.
I can wear it open or buttoned up.
It looks distressed, a little worn in with the already-there tears.
And, as always with Target, the price point wasn’t
anything to complain about, either.
So, I hate the process of finding good denim items,
but when the right one comes along,
I couldn’t be happier for giving all those duds a try.
It makes me love my find even more!
(This sounds a lot like finding the perfect man, does it not!? Hahah!)
