Hey friends!

Today’s post is the last of my outfits from my recent trip to Rome, outside of the Rome Travel Diary I’m working on. This striped off-the-shoulder dress is a great classic summer option to opt for when you’re going to be outside for a long time. The exact one I’m wearing is sold out, unfortunately, but this one is an adorable similar option at a great price!

If you find yourself in Rome, take one of your days there to get up super early and get out right as the sun rises. It is so neat to see Rome, a city that is so full of life, so quiet. It was something I really wanted to do last year when I went with Ben but, our itinerary was so busy, neither of us could get it together early enough, hah! So, since Victoria and I stayed in the center of Rome, we had it a little easier and made it out around 7:40am and walked to my beloved Trevi Fountain. It was probably the ONE monument in Europe I wanted to see more than anything last year and it really does NOT disappoint. I literally teared up when I walked into the small square it sits in for the first time. It’s beyond anything I had ever seen and I was so happy I finally ticked it off the bucket list andddd … the legend is true! If you throw a coin in, you WILL return to Rome! I returned in less than a year and I surely didn’t expect that! We added Rome to our trips’ itinerary at the last minute!

I started writing a post last year, after seeing the Trevi Fountain for the first time, and never ended up publishing it because it needed a little extra tweaking. After I finish all of these big travel diaries, I really want to share that one with y’all because it’s about something I think all of us girls need to remember! 🙂 Stay tuned on that!

Justine and I talked a lot last week about restructuring my schedule to help me get as much accomplished throughout the week as possible and leaving the weekends for family, friends and recoup .. like a normal person 😉 We’ll see how it sticks but I am excited to maintain some solid structure in my days / weeks. So, with that said, today is my office day where I literally sit and write and work on blog post content that needs to get done. I find that it’s getting harder and harder to find time to just sit and work through these longer posts I like and want to continue putting together for y’all so … Monday’s are going to be those days for me from now on and I’m excited about that!

What’s new for you this week?

Hope y’all had an amazing weekend and Father’s Day! I know those days aren’t always easy for everyone so if it was a tough one for you – just know, I know how that feels. Mother’s Day is, literally, the hardest day out of my entire year. Sending you lots of love!

Thanks for stopping by today, y’all! Appreciate you! xo.

Editor's Notes

• No photoshopping here! These photos were taken early in the morning before the crowds set in. Want to know what time? Head to the Rome Travel Diary for all the details!

• If you go to Rome in April, when these photos were taken, make sure you bring a jacket and a lightweight scarf. It’s usually really cold in the morning.

• If you’re thinking about venturing to Rome and you’re wondering where else you should venture to, I’d recommend either tacking on Florence & Cinque Terre OR venturing down to the Amalfi Coast. That gives you plenty of time to explore all of these places adequately!

I love Trevi Fountain! Anything and everything about Rome/Italy. I studied there in college and lived in Rome for a few months. I’ve been back 3 times, including 3 weeks touring Italy last year with my husband for our first anniversary. I too, tear up with I see some of the monuments. We woke up really early most days and were able to see the Pantheon completely empty(!) and Trevi with only about 10 other people around. Magical! There is something so special about Italy, I just can’t get enough. I want to travel so many places, but I keep going back to Italy.

I definitely think God spent just a little more time on Italy. My list of places to see in Italy is far longer than any other country ha! 😉

This is beautiful! I would also like to say thank you for being sensitive to the sadness for some on holidays. I lost my dad almost nine when I was 16, so fathers days aren’t that fun right now. Like I can imagine how mothers days feel for you. But not everyone understands that. So thank you????

I never really realized that holidays can really suck for some people until my Mom died. I’m so sorry you have had to know what the loss of a parent is like at such a young age. You’re not alone, sister! Hugs to you! xo.

Amazing! Yes, there will always be people there that early but no where NEAR what it’s like at 3:00pm haha! Everyone that was there on the morning we took these were pretty considerate of each other because we all had the same idea and wanted the same kind of photos haha so it was so much nicer 🙂 Glad you got your photo! xo.
