January’s Top Ten Beauty Favorites

Hey there, friends!

At the beginning of every month, I share a variety of my favorite things from the previous month in the Monthly Favorites newsletter. January’s goes out on Thursday so subscribe by choosing ‘All Access’ HERE. But, this month, I decided to do a focused blog post on the beauty favorites I discovered recently and throughout the month of January because there were so many!

So, if you’re a beauty product junkie and looking for some newbies to try, here’s what I’ve found and loved!

Drunk Elephant Luxury Facial Oil + Clarisonic Firming Massage Head

Y’all have heard me talk about the importance of facial oils and facial massage through the use of jade rollers last year in THIS post. Elemis has my favorite oils – hands down – but I started using Drunk Elephants’ Luxury Facial Oil at the beginning of the year and LOVE. IT! If you have dry skin, uneven skin tone, redness or noticeable fine lines and wrinkles, I highly encourage you to give this oil a try. It will replenish your skin’s healthy glow. I apply a few drops on my forehead and cheeks at night and massage it into my skin using my Clarisonic with the Firming Massage Head attachment. It will warm up your skin and open up your pores allowing the product to really penetrate into your pores and do the work it was clinically formulated to do! Drunk Elephants’ products are notoriously known for being comprised of clean ingredients, as well, so you really can’t lose with this product!

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream

I’ve been looking for a daily moisturizer that really deeply moisturizes my skin [thanks to hyaluronic acid!] but also absorbs into my skin quickly so that I can apply it and then move on to putting my makeup on not long after. Charlotte Tilburys’ Charlotte’s Magic Cream does just that but also acts as an amazing primer to your makeup making it all go on very smoothly! You’ll find that it plumps up your skin and makes it look more youthful, as well. I really love the lightweight formula. I typically add a couple of tanning drops to it to give my face a little bit more color during these cold Winter months!

Amazon Travel Makeup Case

I recently purchased this travel cosmetic case after seeing a little review that my friend Ashley Robertson did of it on her Instagram Stories! It is study and offers you so much room for everything you could need to bring with you on a trip! I always have to store my makeup items in one case and brushes in another so I loved using this case on my recent trip to Dallas because I had everything in one place neatly organized. You can move the spacers around to make it work for the products that you have. I had to take out one of the longer pieces to accommodate my eyeshadow & bronzer palettes. It really is such a great buy for under $20 and it comes in a few other colors!

Sigma Facial Care Brush Kit

I’m a sucker for a great face mask and have enjoyed using the brushes in Sigma’s Skincare Brush Set to apply them. This keeps the oils in your hands and fingers off of your face and creating more work for the products your applying to combat whatever issues your skin has! Would y’all want me to do a blog post on which brush would be appropriate to use to apply different types of face masks?

Urban Decay Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

Okay, I was extremely intimidated by all of the colors in Urban Decays’ new NAKED Cherry palette at first! I love wearing pink but I’ve never really felt like pink eyeshadow looked good with my blue eyes but, after playing around with a few different combinations [one seen here in these photos], my mind has completely changed. The colors are rich and blend beautifully and all of them pair so nicely together! Another great NAKED palette for us all to enjoy because it’s just so good! 🙂

Lipsticks

The two lip colors I wore the most throughout the month of January were more on the glossy side. Over whatever nude lipstick I had within my reach, either this Too Faced gloss in Papa Don’t Peach, a beautiful neutral peachy nude color. Then, I purchased this Clarin’s gloss two years ago and found it in a purse I used for a shoot that I hadn’t worn in awhile. I put it on my everyday tote bag and happened to have it every time my lips needed just a little color this past month. I didn’t know if it was cruelty-free so I looked it up and, sadly, Clarin’s does sell their products in China, where it’s required to test beauty products on animals prior to the release of the product to public use, so I won’t be able to continue investing in this product BUT … if they were cruelty free, I would because the formula makes your lips so moisturized and soft! I have the Apricot Shimmer shade.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment

Sunday Riley’s All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment is probably the skincare product I am most obsessed with right now. Lactic acid is similar to glycolic acid, which helps to exfoliate and shed the dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin, but milder so, if glycolic acid is too harsh for your skin, this product might suit your skin better. When you apply it to your skin, you can instantly feel it working. I only apply it at night because, just like any other  skin care product with an AHA in it, they can make your skin more photosensitive. Because I have had multiple laser treatments in the past, the importance of sun protection is extremely high so I don’t like to apply products that increase the need for sunscreen. Honestly, I feel this product has been instrumental in making the appearance of my skin more clear. Can’t recommend it enough!

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm

Okay, last year, on Instagram Stories, I shared how I was on the hunt for the best cruelty-free product to take off my makeup at the end of the day! The makeup wipes I used for 10+ years are sadly not cruelty free so I had to kiss them goodbye! I thought I found wipes that I loved but then I tried this cleansing balm just before Christmas and y’all …. it is life changing! It penetrates even the thickest, matte-ifying products with incredible ease! I am extremely impressed with this product. My skin feels so clean after I use it and, although I still use my TULA facial cleanser after using it to take my makeup off, I sometimes feel like it isn’t necessary. It does such a good job!

Alright, y’all! Your turn! What products have you been loving lately? I’d love to hear about any newly discovered hair care, makeup, or skin care products! Leave a comment below!

Thanks for stopping by! xo.

I have been loving the tula illuminating serum. I may have to try the cleansing balm, I normally use johnsons baby head to toe to remove my make up because its the gentlest cleanser and doesn’t turn my face bright red!

I am scared to use any of those rollers on my face. They look kind of painful!
I am very interested in trying tanning drops for my face this summer. Because I use some type of chemical exfoliating product every day, if I use any body tanning products, I need to wear makeup, but I like to skip foundation.
And I love that organizer! I have a larger one for makeup that I used last summer for a long trip. I think my skincare would be better organized in there than in a pouch! Great idea! 🙂

They’re not that painful and, honestly, there are a lot of painful things in life that are good for us in the long run so maybe this is one of them? 😉 And, I’ve been using the organizer for makeup but I guess you could use it for skincare products however, it’s quite large so you’d need a lot of skincare products to fill it up! I was just showing the skincare brush set in there to show that there’s slots of brushes in the cosmetic case 🙂

I just purchased some new products on Saturday! I’m trying to go more cruelty free so I went to my local Sephora and spoke to the skincare expect. He led me to the Drunk Elephant display and I ended up getting the Beste facial wash and the Vitamin C Serum. The Serum is a little sticky but other than that, I love both products! I also picked the Farmacy Honey Drop moisturizer and I absolutely love it!

Stumbled upon ARCONA Triad Pads that cleanse/tone/hydrate all in one and they smell DIVINE. They are $10 for 10 pads and I’ve been using them as a toner AM & PM. Cranberry, white tea and grape make these smell delicious!

You asked for favorite beauty finds! My favorite drugstore lipstick is Revlon; it competes so well with MAC colors and the way it feels on. I think I buy a new color every time I go into CVS. #don’ttellmyhusband

Plus, they are so cheap and easy to use–like dermaplanning at home! I also LOVE the Revisions Skincare nectifirm advanced neck cream! It is seriously sooo good- must try!!

This acne prone sensitive skinned girl has become OBSESSED with DE LaLa retro moisturizer. I looked at it at first and was like “9 different types of oil? There is no way this won’t break me out”… wrong! Game changer. I’m going to have to try out the Clarisonic massage head!

I love epionce products. Specifically the gentle foaming cleanser, balancing toner, lytic TX, and renewal facial lotion. They are great quality, natural products that make your skin look and feel amazing! I started jade rolling a couple months ago and I love it! I feel like it reduces the puffiness under my eyes and it is also so relaxing while doing it. My go-to mask for the past couple years has been the que bella purifying tea tree & witch hazel mud mask. It makes your skin look so bright and smooth and feel so soft. Lastly, I just discovered these glycolic peel pads by bliss called that’s incredi-peel. They immediately brighten your skin and the brand is cruelty free.

Hi Haley! Love this post. I have a question about the Clarisonic and facial massage head- reps at Sephora told me the massage head is not compatible with the Clarisonic MIA. I currently have the MIA and from your photos, it looks like you do, too. So does this attachment work with your Clarisonic or not? I was told it only works with the new MIA Smart device. Thanks for your help!
