Where To Snag Your Last-Minute Halloween Necessities

Halloween is always that one holiday that creeps up on me. Does anyone else feel that way? Maybe it’s because Florida lacks any semblance of Fall or maybe October just tends to be busy, but whatever it is, this year is no different. Last week I realized that Halloween was within a matter of days and I had literally done nothing to prepare. And, while some people might just wave it off, I personally love the nostalgia that Halloween brings and can’t help but to celebrate, even in small ways. Let’s be real … I don’t skip an opportunity for treats and a fun costume tutorial, either.

While this year doesn’t involve a big Halloween party or anything like that [I’m in the U.K. visiting John!], I did want to share a super easy, super cute costume that y’all can pull easily together last minute. Enter: the cat costume. Yes, I know it’s basic but, in my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with that – especially when you’ve got a lot on your plate. Even the most basic costume can add a little fun to the holiday for the kids! I’m planning on showing you guys a simple tutorial for this look on IG Stories today … it might vary slightly because I could only bring so many palettes with me to London but we will work with what I could bring! Honestly, though, Pinterest has a TON of easy cat makeup tutorials. The important part is having the necessities to recreate it!

With only a couple days to get this look together, you know I turned to my friends at Walmart for the goods. They offer 1- and 2-day shipping on SO much of their inventory, including beauty and makeup products. I was able to browse the essentials for a cat look on their site and I had everything I needed delivered within 48 hours. On top of the actual makeup, Walmart had everything I needed [or that you might need] for costumes of all kinds. From cat ears to full-on costumes for all ages, they’ve really got the last-minute-holiday thing covered. Praise be!

While my little black dress is older, I found several that would be perfect for cat looks [including a classic scoop neck, this long-sleeve option, and this tank top A-line]. Throw on some black tights if it’s chilly where you live, cat ears, black sneakers or booties, some makeup [like this neutral brown palette], and you’re good to go. Basic, but still dang cute!

silly kitty ….

And let’s not forget about the absolute best part of Halloween … the sweeeeets! Included in my last-minute order obviously had to be some treats. While I won’t be in town for the actual holiday, I had to treat myself before [and leave some on my porch for the neighborhood kiddos]. This variety pack is very nostalgic to me as it includes all of my childhood favorites! And who doesn’t love Reese’s Pumpkins? I typically prefer salty over sweet but NOT around Halloween!

If you’re home for the holiday and aren’t wanting to brave the stores in person, just order online and the candy will be to ya before the trick-or-treaters arrive. Walmart has a candy bowl cauldron that’s festive and fun, as well. Here’s another option for less than $1]. They are also full of simple decor items if you need to decorate this week [always love some spiders and webs for an easy spooky look].

Alright, I’m off to eat my bodyweight in chocolate to celebrate a little early [only half-joking …], but I hope this post was helpful, especially if the holiday crept up on you.

While we’re on the topic of treats, I’m curious – what’s your all-time favorite Halloween candy?! Are you a sour or sweets person? Let me know and hope you have an awesome Halloween! xo.
