Hi there, friends! Wow. It has been a minute since I’ve been able to get you an outfit post and, while it’s not the most creative or layered look, it feels incredible nonetheless. Baby steps. Baby steps. Hah! I have about seven minutes before Louie wakes up from his second nap of the day so I’m going to try and squeeze as much in as I can before I turn mommy mode back on so, here we go! Let’s talk about this affordable sweater dress that you can currently snag on sale [as long as you meet the minimum cart price requirement … I know, that’s annoying but, hey, I didn’t want to hide it from you, ya know?].

This gorgeous charcoal gray sweater dress, showcasing a mock neck and structured shoulders, is a great basic for this time of year. I styled it with these classic Marc Fisher booties, that I’ve had for a few years now, as it might not be quite cool enough for boots yet. However, this is definitely a piece that you can build upon as it gets colder. I’m personally excited to throw on this beige coat over it with these new boots [UK LINK] I just pulled the trigger on. Speaking of boots, Nordstrom has quite a few knee high and over the knee boots that are really cute. I bought these by Steve Madden and these by Treasure & Bond. I feel like I keep and wear boots for years [as you’ll see in an upcoming outfit post … the booties I wore I’ve had for FIVE years and they’re still in good condition] so, I felt like it was time I added a few new ones to the collection. I have a soft spot for cream, beige and charcoal for some reason. I just think they look so beautiful all together.
Since sweater dresses are such a great building block for your wardrobe, I thought I’d share a roundup of sweater dresses under $100 if maybe this one doesn’t suit you. There are so many good options out there right now!
Also, I realize my handbag is a splurge so I wanted to give you an option that looks somewhat similar. The one that really caught my attention that I think would look gorgeous with this dress and with beige boots as the season wears on is THIS one. It’s by a London-based designer, which you can snag at Nordstrom, called Kurt Geiger. His pieces are a little eccentric but I personally think there are some good gems amongst the collection on Nordstrom’s site. For example, these flats [in the ‘Camel Leather’ are so classy. I’m going on a hunt for them on their official website later, hah! If you like a bigger bag, there’s this bigger version of that bag HERE. I also felt like, even though it’s a little more cognac and a different style, this bag might be worth mentioning just due to the price tag! Take it or leave it. Just thought I’d throw it out there! The other one is definitely more edgy, like the Boy Bag.
Alright, friends. So, no, I didn’t write this in seven minutes. Hah, I wish! But I’m glad I was able to get it finished for you. I’m so thankful John and I both work from home so we can tag team quality time with Louie. If you’re interested in shopping my personal favorites from Shopbop, I’ll leave a little widget down below.
