My Favorite Shackets Under $100

A year or two ago, shackets felt like a very trendy fashion piece. But I think they’re beginning to turn more into a fall and winter staple piece more than a trend as of lately. Most retailers carry at least a few options of this jacket style, and think shackets are here to stay for a bit. A shacket is a cross between a shirt and a jacket. Typically, they fit a bit more oversized and button up the front. They can be found in a variety of materials from flannel, sherpa, corduroy and many others. Today I’m sharing my favorite shackets under $100 and styling a shacket with white jeans for a casual fall look.

Speaking of trends, find out what trend you should try out this fall in this POST HERE.

Layer a Shacket Over Your Sweater

A shacket makes a great layering piece throughout the fall. What’s nice about a shacket is it acts like a jacket, but you don’t necessarily feel like you have to take it off when you get inside to your destination. That’s because it’s generally lighter in weight compared to a jacket. The specific one I’m wearing is from H&M found here, but it’s pretty sold through right now. However, there are two other patterns in this style that are available. This shacket from Petal and Pup is similar, and is full stocked at the moment.

Wear a Cashmere Sweater Under the Shacket

For a soft and cozy layer underneath the shacket, wear a cashmere sweater. My cashmere sweater is a turtleneck style and like it peeping it out over the shacket. The brown against the light beige is a beautiful color combo for the fall. The exact cashmere sweater I’m wearing is the Mango Cashmere Blend Turtleneck Sweater (old). I’m linking a few similar options below!

Pair White Jeans with the Look

To add a pop of brightness to the outfit, I styled white skinny jeans. And yes, it is perfectly acceptable to wear white jeans all year long now. You can throw the no-white-jeans-after-Labor-Day rule out the window. They’re so much fun to style throughout the fall and winter, and give you another great color option when wearing jeans. My jeans are the Citizens of Humanity White Jeans, but THESE are very similar to the ones I have on.

Complete the Shacket Outfit with Knee-High Boots

These Gianvito Rossi Ribbon 85 Buckled Suede Knee Boots elevate and dress up this casual look. With the 3.5 inch heel, they pair well with denim jeans, skirts and dresses. The price tag is an investment, but they hold up beautifully and are very comfortable. The boots come in two other colors and run true to size.

When I’m thinking of purchasing an investment piece, I consider two things. The first is making sure it won’t go out of style soon. The second is asking myself how often I’ll use that particular item. If it’s not too trendy and I’m going to wear it often, then it’s usually a contender.

I love that the Shacket has become a more modern version of the cardi! And that you can layer more substantially underneath it. They’ve definitely grown on me!
