Buongiorno, amici!
Our itinerary took us from Nice, France to Florence, Italy then Rome and then … Venice!
Arriving in Venice was like arriving on to a movie set. It literally looks like it was made to look that unreal. As previously mentioned, seeing the Trevi Fountain for the first time brought me to tears. I’m not too proud to admit that walking out of the train station in Venice out toward the Grand Canal almost did me in as quickly as Trevi did. I held it together because we had to figure out what vaporetto to take to our hotel, haha … nothing like experiencing mild stress in a foreign country to kill a moment 😉 Our stop on the vaporetto was right at the iconic Rialto Bridge and, from there, our hotel was a short 5-minute walk although, with luggage and crowds down the narrow streets of Venice, it seemed to take about 15 or so.
After settling in to our hotel, Victoria and I walked over to Piazza San Marco [or St. Marks Square, in English] where it didn’t take me long to spot a dachshund and befriend its owners. #typical #canttakemeanywhere We didn’t really have an agenda for our first evening. I really just like to meander and get lost and see where it takes me. Bridge of Sighs happened to be about 50 feet from where some of these photos were taken. We stopped by there real quick, took a couple photos of it then made it over to a well-known bar called, Harry’s. A meal there is pretty pricey so we just kept it simple, opting for prosecco and said ‘Cin Cin’ [pronounced ‘chin-chin’] to the fact that we made it to our fourth destination out of six!
I am always a little afraid to wear such a vibrant bright pink because I don’t feel like it’s a color that compliments my skin tone as well as others. However, I saw this top at Forever21 before I left and thought it was a flattering fit so decided to get it anyway. I posted it on Instagram for you guys not long after I wore it but it has since sold out. I found a pretty similar one HERE but I do apologize the price isn’t as nice as Forever21 prices. :
For anyone looking for comfortable flats to wear around cities with lots of cobblestones, I can’t recommend THESE enough. I have multiple colors that have all seen quite a few cities in Europe. They’re super comfortable!
I can’t wait to share more about our time in Venice. It is a floating dreamboat. Seriously! I loved it!
Thanks for stopping by today, y’all! Have a great Wednesday! xo.
