Well, hello! And … supriiiiise!
No, you’re not seeing another person.
That is me … with strawberry blonde hair.
Those of you who know me personally,
are familiar with my obsession over hair maintenance
and belief that ‘hair days are the best days’.
Every five weeks, on a Tuesday, I am keeping my hair stylist
on her toes with my new ideas and/or minor changes.
I’ve been rocking variations of the dark brown ombre for almost two years,
so I decided, since the warm weather is coming soon,
that I would lighten things up.
Will I keep it?
Who knows, but I like it for now.
I don’t know about y’all,
but I hope the neon trend never ends.
I grabbed these neon rainy-day ballet flats
last weekend at J. Crew Factory.
When I got home, I laid them in my closet and noticed
… that I already have two pairs of lime green shoes. Whoopsies.
The existing lime green shoes, however,
are a pair of heels and a pair of sandals,
but are lime green nonetheless.
Then I poured myself a cup of coffee this morning,
and I realized that my most recent mug purchase at Starbucks
is lime green.
Hmm…
Looks like cobalt has some competition brewing.
But, really, this outfit is the perfect example of how neon colors
just brighten up an outfit.
In my opinion, this outfit is very simple,
but almost at the edge of boring if it weren’t for the neon pop of color.
I think it’s what makes the outfit attractive.
Don’t get me wrong:
Chambray button-up,
I love you. You know that.
I wear you all the time.
Military vest,
You’re awesome.
Thanks for keeping my outfits interesting.
But, let’s not kid ourselves.
They don’t say
“If it isn’t neon, it shouldn’t be on!”
for nothing.
It really is the jam.
Thanks to Florida’s unpredictable weather,
I am featuring two different accessories in these photo’s.
I found that leopard umbrella last summer
at J. Crew Factory and snatched it up.
I had just moved back from Colorado,
where it barely rains,
and was in dire need because, well,
it rains almost every day in Florida in the summer.
it rains almost every day in Florida in the summer.
The cognac colored clutch by Hobo is one of my summer staples.
It goes with everything,
and is big enough for just the basics.
In the summer time, when you’re out at a baseball game,
a barbecue, riding bikes, etc.,
the last thing you want to deal with is a purse on your arm.
This one is versatile.
You can wear it as a clutch
or as a cross-body, which is what I prefer.
This Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day,
and although I am not even a small percent Irish,
it is one of my favorite holidays.
And, what do you know?
It’s the perfect holiday for you
to exercise your use of lime green
to make your outfit POP!
Hey, if anything,
it will keep ya from getting pinched!
With LOVE and sequins,
Haley
