My Most Used Hair Tools and Products

Hi friends, happy Monday! It’s been a minute since I brought you a full-on beauty post, so I decided to share my most-used hair products and tools – a topic that frequently pops up in my DMs. Quick side note before I dive in, and most of you know this about me, but I’m an extensions girl and want everyone to know that before thinking all my hair is natural, hah! I mean, I love my natural hair and I’m grateful for what I have but I love to add length and volume on occasion via extensions. I wrote about my experience with natural beaded row extensions in this post in late 2019 and then eventually had them taken out to try out my natural hair for a bit and then had extensions put back in in the UK in 2o20.

Anyway, lots of info on my extensions in the post I linked above, but let’s dive into my favorite products and tools, shall we?!

Products I Use

Olaplex Treatment

I use Olaplex No. 6 twice a month as a reparative treatment for my hair. Although my hair isn’t seeing as much damage from hot tools and coloring these days, it is fantastic for hydrating and protecting your locks!

Olaplex Oil

Amazing to use alongside Olaplex No. 6!! It’s a highly concentrated oil that is hydrating and I absolutely love it [used Kerastase Elixir for years and loved it so much but it’s not cruelty-free so I was so thankful to find Olaplex works even better!].

Pureology Shampoo

I try a lot of different products for work and because I simply enjoy it, but I’ve been using this shampoo consistently for two years; love the smell of peppermint and it leaves your scalp feeling tingly and fresh.

Pureology Conditioner

Same sentiment as the shampoo – love it and have been going back to it over and over for two years.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

My ride-or-die dry shampoo! It soaks up all the unwanted oil without totally drying your hair out and making it crispy.

Redken Pillowtalk Spray

In case you haven’t noticed I’m big into trying to protect my hair, especially when using hot tools and this is a fantastic heat protectant.

Aveda Volumizing Tonic

I’ve used this since college it’s that good! I have pretty fine hair and this helps bring it to maximum volume without it getting cakey or too heavy.

Aveda Air Control Spray

I’ll never quit this flexible hair spray! My hair stays in place without getting crunchy plus I really love Aveda’s commitment to taking care of the Earth as this is a net-zero product.

Oribe Texturizing Spray

Love adding this as one of the final steps when styling my hair. It just gives it that perfectly effortless look. I do also love the one by livingproof.

Tools I Use

GHD Curling Iron

Probably one of my best beauty buys of 2020! I use it almost daily and after almost a year it’s holding up really well.

GHD Straightener

Clearly I really love this brand, ha! I know there’s a massive number of hot tools out there, but I really think GHD is one of the best. They’re investment pieces but the quality is there.

Dyson Hair Dryer

Big fan of the Dyson Hair Dryer, it just takes a minute to get the hang of as it’s very different than using a curling iron. I promise my tutorial with more thoughts is still coming!

Silk Scrunchies

Even if you’re not a scrunchie girl, I still highly recommend these to protect your hair against breakage.

Alligator Clips

Ladies, get yourself some of these and thank me later! They’re the best when sectioning off my hair and clipping back.

Microfiber Towel

Traditional towels can actually be really damaging to your hair so I like to use a microfiber towel on hair washing days.

Tangle Teezer De-tangling Hairbrush

This brush is genius. You actually use it while in the shower and it’s amazing at helping me keep tangles at bay.

That’s all I’ve got for you girls today, but I hope it was helpful if you’re in the market for any hair products or have had a question ab0ut something I use – this is definitely my go-to list! xo.
