Cold Weather Workwear Pieces I’m Eyeing

Hi friends! I hope you’re starting to enjoy cooler temperatures where you are. Here in the UK, we have certainly started reaching for all of our cold weather clothing. Every year, I feel like once November hits, it is basically winter here. It is always a challenge to get dressed up for work this time of year but, sometimes, it is definitely a must in order to keep my motivation level up! What about you?

I always find that getting dressed for work to be more of a challenge this time of year. I realize that my job has more flexibility than most in the dress code policy department than most but, I do try and put myself in your shoes when sharing outfits and new-in pieces. Although, I do feel like the term “workwear” has become more subjective, right? For many of us, the “workplace” could be anywhere these days.

Some days we might have online meetings, and on other days we might find ourselves at the office. It seems that workwear isn’t necessarily what it used to be, but on the plus side, it seems to have become a bit more integrated into our everyday style. This is exciting because now we can stretch the everyday pieces in our closet to fit more of our workwear needs!

Because the term workwear means something different to all of us, I’ve had my eye on a variety of styles and types of pieces with you all in mind. Here are some of the workwear pieces that I’m excited about!

Skirts

Long skirts are a great way to elevate your workwear. In the cold months, long skirts can be paired with tall boots for a chic, pulled together look. The few that I’ve pulled above are some of my absolute favorites for this season.

Sweaters

Sweaters are a key piece of my cold weather workwear style. Personally, I recommend investing in quality sweaters, because they never go out of style, and can keep them in your wardrobe for years to come! To me, a great sweater is an essential building block of several of my cold weather workwear outfits. A great sweater is in your closet for a long time, and I know you’ll love.

Outerwear

Bring on all the coats and jackets! Investing in a quality coat will not only keep you warm as the temperatures drop, but the right coat can easily add both style and professionalism to your workwear. For fall and winter, I love to grab for my wool blazer because it’s one of those pieces that can be styled several different ways, and still give your look that perfect touch of professionalism.

How I Styled a Cold Weather Casual Workwear Outfit

Mom Jeans

Does anyone else have their fingers constantly crossed in hopes that mom jeans won’t go out of style anytime soon? Because, same! I mean you know I love skinny jeans, but the mom jeans are up there when it comes to my favorites. To read whether skinny jeans are out or not, read this POST HERE.

This pair of Everlane Mom Jeans is a cold weather essential in my book. Not only do they go great with loafers, but they pair well with several different shoes in your closet that are both work and cold weather appropriate. You guys know I’ve been in love with Everlane for awhile now. I think their effort to ethically manufacture beautiful products to be incredibly admirable. They’re currently offering 30% off sweaters so definitely take advantage. A lot of my personal favorites are linked in THIS collection on my LTK profile.

Turtleneck Bodysuit

I’ve found that this turtleneck bodysuit is extremely versatile for cold weather seasons. If you’ve been incorporating bodysuits into your style as they’ve been on the rise, this one is a great addition to your newfound collection. And if you haven’t given the trend a try quite yet, I recommend trying this one!

You can see that I’ve styled this one with a blazer, but this is also a great piece to go with a cardigan, a suede or leather coat, and especially your jeans and long skirts. And as most bodysuits do, this one runs small.

Loafers

Cold weather workwear shoes can be a challenge because they have lots of important criteria to meet! They need to keep your feet warm, be comfortable to walk in, go with the style of your pants, skirt, or dress, and they need to be professional. Whew! They have a big job.

I’m so glad to see that loafers continue to be a closet staple, because a good pair meets all of the cold weather workwear requirements. Not only do these Loraine Loafers cross off all the criteria on my list, but they are also high quality, season transitional, and the color allows me to pair them with countless outfits. I find that this pair runs true to size.

My hope is that these pieces bring inspiration to your workwear wardrobe this winter! Cold weather style is simply timeless, and these pieces will become closet staples for you in no time. When you invest in quality pieces, you’ll find that they will last several cold weather seasons to come. I can’t wait to see how you style your workwear this fall and winter!
