Happy Monday!
I’m taking care of patients after surgery
while wearing scrubs today.
I very often envy my friends
who get to style work outfits every day.
I’ve been told
many times
that it is not as fun as it seems.
But, just for the heck of it,
I put one together as if I were working
in an office today instead of on a hospital surgical unit.
My latest obsession is peplum.
I know it was THE THING last year,
along with the mint color craze,
but I’m more into it now.
Since the new year,
my peplum count has gone from
zero to seven.
That’s a pretty serious increase.
I found this peplum top at Target,
and there are so many things that made it an obvious wardrobe necessity:
– the price ($22.99)
– its simplicity (black & white, classic)
– its versatility (can be dressed up or down)
I bought these tuxedo pants with a satin stripe down the sides
a couple weeks ago because I thought they were so fun.
They are work appropriate and are an easy transition to happy hour attire.
In my dream world,
wearing leopard pumps to work would be completely normal.
There would be nothing strange or inappropriate about them.
But y’all may know different.
So, only incorporate leopard into your work attire
if you feel that it wouldn’t be looked at as unprofessional.
I don’t know about y’all,
but I am ready for Spring.
Just when I think it’s going to warm up for good,
a cold front comes through and lasts for a week.
(If you live anywhere other than Florida,
I realize you’re telling me to ‘shut up’ in your head right now.
But, we’re SUPER warm blooded down here,
and even the mildest temp is freezing to us, so forgive me!)
So, while the warm weather is trying to make its way here to stay,
but we still have those cold starts and finishes to the day,
throw on a jacket to complete the look for your way in and out of the office.
Because, you know … you may climb trees on your lunch break.
I obviously would.
