How is your week going so far? It has been on-another-level HOT down here this week. I’m actually heading up to the mountains of North Carolina tomorrow to enjoy some quality time with my Dad’s side of the family. It’s been a couple of years since we had a family reunion and I was in London for the last one, so I’m really, really excited for this one! I’m excited about the fact that it could potentially give us a little bit of relief from the heat, as well!
Well, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost behind us. Prices go up on Monday, August 6th! Two of my favorite purchases from the sale are styled in today’s post. This beautiful cuir leather Longchamp tote has been my go to since it came in. It’s durable and allows for so much storage. The inside is lined with a silky fabric with a signature print really elevating the look of the bag. I can’t recommend it enough. It will last for years and it’s $175 off the regular retail price! My other favorite purchase is the rag & bone raw hem skinny jeans. They are extremely soft and easy to wear all day. They are high-waisted, don’t stretch and hug you in all the right places making you feel super confident! I wore this FRAME blouse, that I picked up in the Designer section of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, with both of these items and paired them with the Gucci sunglasses and these new Schutz woven mules that I can’t get enough of.
I get asked quite a bit if I could provide some workplace outfit inspiration and I always get nervous to because everyone’s workplaces are so different in terms of what is appropriate and isn’t. Also, I worked as a nurse for five years so workplace attire isn’t necessarily something I have ever really had to adhere to. However, I think this outfit can is at least a starting off point. It’s a great dressed up casual look for a lunch date with a work colleague or a casual Friday outfit. You could easily switch out the mules for a pair of heels, if needed, as well as the jeans for a cigarette pant instead. Again, it might not work for everyone’s work setting but you can at least use the outfit as a baseline and switch out what you need to for your workplace.
Before the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, is over, be sure to head over to the Designer section to see if you can find anything that might be a good investment for your work wardrobe. The items I shared here are ones I will surely be getting a lot of use out of over the next year or more!
