How in the world are we at this point in the year? Today is the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Icon members were able to shop just after midnight this morning. I don’t know about you but I was rushing to get my wishlist done so I was ready to check out when it was go time. It was a little stressful, not gonna lie! Ha. I didn’t go crazy this year with my purchases. As I’ve refined my wardrobe and become more intentional around my spending, I just felt like I knew where the gaps in my wardrobe were and where good investments would make the most sense. As soon as I am able to get the items to me here in the UK, I’ll be sure to show you what I got — but, if you want to know before then, be sure to subscribe to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Newsletter community. I’m sending out exclusive content to them this week, including what I purchased! It goes out today at 12:00PM EST.
Being that there’s still some time for many to get their wishlists in order, I thought I’d share some of my picks from some of the major categories. Do you have your wishlist ready to go? If you’re not sure what a wishlist is, be sure to check out this post from last week!
Basic Accessories & Travel Gear
My favorite luggage, Beis, is included in the sale this year so don’t miss the cute products they have contributed to the sale. The 21″ spinner roller carry-on is my personal favorite as I have it in the beige color. Personally swooning over the pink, though! Don’t miss the designer sunglasses collection – I mean you have Prada, Celine, Dior and more! I do love this more budget friendly Quay pair, though. Also, I want to make sure I mention this belt that’s included this year. Do you remember this outfit from 2020? I believe I was about 14 weeks pregnant with Louie at the time:
I felt like such a badass in this outfit. Ha, anyway, I’m sharing it because the belt I’m wearing in this outfit is incredible and it’s literally never available but they have a really similar one in black and in grey available this year so definitely check it out! I styled it in a few of the looks I included in The Lookbook, which you can have delivered to your inbox by signing up for the Nordstrom newsletter group.
Beauty
Don’t miss my GHD curling wand if you’re in the market for one. The technology is incredible and really aims to minimize heat damage. The curls you get are insane, especially after using Oribe’s dry texturizing spray. Hello, volume and body! The Riki mirror is an amazing mirror to use at your vanity. If you like to film tutorials or chat on Facetime while you’re getting ready, it’s even more handy! My two favorite products by Tula are being offered in a bundle this year, which is exciting. Their products are so gentle and nourishing. My favorite fragrance by Jo Malone is included in a set this year as well as my favorite mascara. I hate to use the word favorite so much but I just like to make sure I call out what I actually use from the sale. 🙂
Baby
You guys .. THE DOONA is included in the Nordstrom Sale! I could not believe it when I saw it. It was one of my favorite purchases of the first year. It’s a stroller and car seat in one and made travel such an actual breeze when we traveled with Louie internationally at 6 and 11 months. Louie was so comfortable in it — well, more comfortable at 6 months than 11 months, tbh. It’s super easy to maneuver, lightweight and easy to lock in as a car seat without a base. My only critique is the material. I feel like it needs to be a little more breathable.
I’m personally looking at the Uppababy Vista V2 to keep at my Dad’s when we visit [but also wondering if that makes sense as we need a stroller when we travel so wouldn’t we just buy a travel stroller now that he’s likely a bit too big for the Doona? hah, clearly still thinking it through] as well as this Nuna Flame Retardant Car Seat. That is definitely something we will need so it’ll be nice to have that there for him. Also, if you’re pregnant, DO. NOT. MISS these maternity leggings by Zella. Oh my gosh, they were the BEST!
Denim
The denim choices weren’t as impressive as in years’ past in my opinion but, they do still include my favorite brand, Joe’s Jeans. They fit SO freaking good and they included a few different styles by them this year. This style is my personal favorite. And, y’all … I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m starting to warm up to the wider leg denim option .. as long as they are cropped and aren’t at my ankles or touching the ground [because I don’t know what to do with that]. I’m short enough and that will only make me look shorter, ha! The wide leg styles I thought looked cute and I’m thinking about are these and these.
Because I wasn’t super impressed with the denim this year … I wanted to highlight leggings here. If you don’t have a pair, the faux leather leggings by Spanx are notoriously sought after. I also found this pair of faux leather leggings that are an ivory color instead of black, which I feel like you don’t see often but I am here for it! I got a pair from Mango last year [see below] and wore them quite a bit and then found a faux leather pair from H&M and wore those even more so, wanted to be sure to highlight this pair included in the Nordstrom Sale.
I styled so many denim and non-denim bottoms in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Look Book so be sure to have it sent to your email by signing up for the Nordstrom Sale newsletter community.
Outerwear
Outerwear is the category I always go to first when it comes to Nordstrom Sale. I absolutely love carefully curating my outerwear collection and I certainly love adding to the collection during high sale times like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I really like the options that they have available this year, particularly this Reiss wrap coat. I didn’t style it in the Look Book because I couldn’t find an image of it off the model but, it looks absolutely heavenly! It’s definitely my top pick. I also found myself styling this cashmere ruana for the Look Book quite a bit and feel like you’d get a ton of use out of it if it’s up your street. This sleeveless coat is so chic and great for the office. And I don’t know what it is about this reversible quilted jacket but I think it’s a great option for your weekend outings. I am also seriously eyeing this oversized blazer. I feel like I rarely ever wear black in the Spring and Summer – make that never – but, do feel more comfortable in it in the Fall and Winter. I feel like my edgy side comes out so I feel like this would be a great addition to my current blazer options.
Shoes
If there’s one department I recommend you do not sleep on – it’s the shoe department! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has definitely changed over the years. I’d argue that they don’t present nearly as much good quality items as they used to but, this years’ options in the shoe department really impressed me.
• I saw these kate spade new york cognac loafers and audibly gasped as they are so similar to the Prada loafers I wear and are often asked about. If you’re a loafer gal like me, I’d definitely consider those.
• As always, they have the typical classic Fall bootie here and here.
• There are a lot of western inspired styles that are super fun and would be great for concert going or a night out at the bars with girlfriends!
• I feel like I may be getting old because I swooned over these sneakers by Dr. Scholls [haha] but, seriously, do they not look like the cutest and most perfect pair of sneakers for a trip where you’ll be doing a lot of walking? I love them.
• I also found myself styling these pointed toe flats [in the light beige color; they’re so much cuter than the option that looked similar last year.. I was not loving the ‘gold’ hardware but these def have my approval!], these pointed toe black ankle boots and these brown ankle boots In the Look Book quite a bit. You can still get it in your inbox here.
• I feel like most everyone has a pair of over the knee camel boots at this point but this is the pair that stood out to me.
I could say more but, I’ll stop there! The Look Book really does feature that ones I was really drawn to this year.
Sweaters
The sweaters that caught my eye are linked above but wanted to quickly point out that this cashmere sweater is one of my most worn items in my Fall and Winter wardrobe. It’s one of the cornerstones of so many outfits I style during those colder months. I prefer higher quality sweaters as opposed to the trendier crop and chunky sweater options as I find they’re easier to layer with outerwear. I really like the rust and beige color option.
Loungewear
Home
The home department deserves an award. I think what they have included this year is really well rounded and offers a lot of variety. It has everything you need if you’re wanting to get your guest room in order or you’ve been needing to buy a new set of wine glasses. Definitely don’t sleep on using the sale to make some of the pesky refreshments you’re home has been needing but you haven’t wanted to shell out full price money for.
Intimates
I cannot underline how important it is for you to consider the underwear from Chantelle Lingerie. They are so incredibly comfortable and ultra stretchy. I promise, especially if you’re pregnant, you will thank me later.
Activewear
I bought the pink Nike sweatshirt. I wish the pink shorts were included but, for some reason, they’re not – at least not in the pink color.
Alright, you guys! I have more picks coming your way in this post later today so be sure to come back but I hope, at least for now, this has been helpful! What are you tempted by that you’ve seen included in the sale? I’d love to hear in a comment below! xo.
