The Outfits I Wore In The Lake District

John and I just got back from our trip to the Lake District. We had the best time taking in the magnificent views and eating our weight in delicious food. The foodie in both of us loved trying out different restaurants and sampling the tasting menu. I was definitely guilty of taking one too many food pictures, but don’t worry, today’s post is just about the outfits that I wore in the Lake District! I’m rounding up my favorite looks from our trip that you can easily recreate.

The Lake District is a region and national park located in northwest England. John actually won a two-night stay here from work, and we decided to extend it a few nights since it’s a bit far from Windsor. While we’re gone, Louie stayed with John’s mom. In case you missed it, I rounded up my packing list in THIS POST.

This wool-blend longline coat might just rival as one of my most loved outfits from the trip. I layered it over a classic turtleneck neck sweater and paired it with black skinny jeans and knee high boots. The checked pattern in the coat gives this look an on-trend modern feel. I also love that the leather boots give this look a timeless equestrian vibe that is perfect for fall! If sizes are starting to be picked over, they also have THIS ONE that is even more luxe, in my opinion, and THIS ONE to consider, as well.

One of my most asked questions is, “what type of shoe do you wear with a sweater dress when it’s cold outside?”. I personally recommend suede knee high boots for warmth. They layer nicely under a dress and keep you warm! THIS is the pair that I wore with this look!

I don’t know about you, but I love to where white jeans in the winter! The key to ensuring your look has a fall vibe is to incorporate varying layers and textures into your look. Right now, we are seeing cropped flare jeans styled with higher ankle booties. In this look, I opted to pair my favorite white jeans [also here] with suede boots [UK LINK] and layered a neutral cardigan [UK LINK] under this gorgeous cream coat. The mixture of creams and whites create a chic feminine look that can easily go from day to night!

One of my must-pack items for a fall trip is the lululemon fleece belt bag. The lululemon belt bag has swept through the fashion world like a tornado, and I have to admit that I’m here for the trend. Not only is it lightweight and easy to travel with, it’s also very practical. I love that I can be hands-free while exploring. Plus, I can easily access my phone or cards when I need them. I prefer to wear it slightly looser and span across my front diagonally.

Another must-pack item are my go-to faux leather leggings. These are actually fleece lined, which is perfect for colder getaways. You can style these casually with sneakers and a puffer jacket or dress them up with boots and a coat. I love that they instantly give your look and elevated and chic feeling. I personally grab these when I know I have a long day of walking ahead of me. They are perfect for when you want to look put-together but also feel comfortable and confident.

For a casual daytime look, opt for a long sleeve bodysuit, straight leg jeans and loafers. I layered an oversized cashmere wrap from J.Crew over the top for an added layer of warmth for an afternoon by the fire while it was pouring rain outside. Another option would be to swap the wrap for a sweater blazer or belted coat.

John and I love to try out new restaurants anytime we are traveling. This was my evening dinner look that I snapped a few pictures of before we ventured out for what ended up being an amazing meal! I love the look of these wide leg trousers paired with a neutral cashmere sweater. I recently featured a roundup of my favorite wide leg trousers. To view the post, click here.

Oftentimes when we are on vacation, we will wake up early, grab breakfast and explore the town, check cute shops and soak it all it. For mornings like these, I typically opt for my favorite lululemon align leggings and Veja sneakers. I also layered my favorite Free People long sleeve tee under a crew neck sweater and cozy quilted jacket. I recently picked this one up during the Tory Burch fall sale, and I can’t get over how cozy and cute it is!

Hiking boots were a huge fashion trend last year, and I have a feeling they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. I packed these with us because I knew we would be doing some hiking and wanted to make sure I had the proper gear. I grabbed this pair [which you can easily snag from Nordstrom] recently and love that they are fur-lined and waterproof. They were very comfortable and kept my feet warm the entire time. I highly recommend these if you’re on the hunt for a good winter boot. They were probably a little more than I needed for this trip [something like this pair I still have in the States would have worked better] BUT I know they’ll be handy for future trips.

Fall might just be one of my favorite times of the year to travel. It’s usually chilly enough to pack light layers, but not too cold where you can’t explore outdoors. If you have a fall or winter trip planned, be sure to bookmark this post and come back to it later!

Thanks for reading, y’all! Talk soon. xo.
